Focus Booster for Mac is a small utility timer that helps you stay on task as you work through sessions and breaks of whatever length you like. While this program doesn't come with a lot of fancy bells and whistles, it can be a real asset when you're trying to increase productivity.
Clear interface: All features of this app are clearly accessible through its streamlined interface, which lets you specify your preferences for multiple aspects of the timer's function. You can set any session time you want, and include breaks of any length you like, as well. You can also decide whether you want the sessions to automatically run back to back, or whether you'd like to manually start each one. And there are several options for the type of alert you'd like to receive when each session ends.
Progress bar: You'll always have a good idea when you are in a session even if you don't get a good look at the exact amount of time remaining because the app also features a color-coded progress bar. As this bar moves from zero to your chosen end time, it also changes from green to yellow to red, so you can see quickly where you stand.
No resume function: While you can pause a session at any point if you need to, there is no option to resume that session from where you left off. All you can do is start a session over from the beginning, which isn't a terrible thing, but it seems like a strange feature to omit.
This free app provides a lot of function in a small package. It can be a great tool to help you stay focused while you're working, and it doesn't bog you down in a ton of details along the way.
