Editors' Review

by   / February 27, 2009

This handy little browser allows you take Firefox with you wherever you go. Unfortunately, you wont be able to take your bookmarks with you.

Once you download Firefox Portable Plus, you'll want to save it to a portable media device of your choice (CD, DVD, USB drive). From there, you can pop it into any computer and have Firefox right at your fingertips. We opted to save the file to our USB device. The program saved to the portable device without any issues; however, when we unzipped the file and clicked on the application, we kept receiving the same pop-up window over and over again asking us if we wanted to put modified and new files into the archive. Clicking yes or no introduces the same window. Clicking cancel got us out of the loop, but it was still annoying. Still, we were able to browse the Web using Firefox on another without having to go through the download and installation process of the standard version of Firefox. We bookmarked a few pages, but when we opened the program on another computer, none of our bookmarks or settings were saved.

If you're not worried about taking your bookmarks with you wherever you go, this free portable browser works great. Users of all levels will find it easy to operate.
