Despite its dull presentation, this utility effectively enhances Windows' search functionality. ESP is a self-executable file, and its straightforward interface is simple enough for most users to figure out. The program allows you to specify search directories and folders, and matches will begin appearing with the first character you type in the Search field. ESP automatically displays the first 10 search results, or you can click the button to show all results. As with the standard Windows' search tool, files can be opened from within the program. The small interface includes a list of recently accessed files that can be hidden using the View menu. Also included is a tool for more advanced users to create customized associations to open files with a certain program. ESP worked well in our tests, and we were pleased to find it was effective searching both local and network drives. The fully functional demo version proved to be a fast and efficient way of searching files that's suitable for the novice, but with a few extras geared toward the more advanced user.

ESP literally puts every file you care about at your fingertips. Simply provide ESP with a list of directories (local to your PC or on network drives) and then begin typing the name of what you want! As you type, ESP presents a list of files matching your query. The files you access more often are listed before files you rarely or never access.
