I have tried it again. I still can't really be sure if it is recording. Some cryptic bits of the GUI are missing their tool-tips. The program has its fair share of annoying bugs. BUT, the worst thing about this program is a feature, not a bug: if the program crashes or closes unexpectedly, when it comes back on it prompts you to RESET ALL THE SETTINGS!!! And when I declined to do this, the settings button was greyed out and I couldn't get the the settings. Really crazy. Later I tried doing as it suggested, and as you would expect it reset everything. So no, this is not the ultimate IP cam client software. It's just anotherfatally flawed and buggy freebee.

  - It is the first free video surveillance software having so complete functions and smart design - Really free video analytic functions. I cannot find any other software providing such advance functions for free. - It has a very good client software (CMS)

  I am a computer professional and a cctv computer integrator, so I know what im doin. This program is 2 difficult 2 understand, I couldnt even get a single camera to show up, I tried a ddns, a local camera hooked up 2 the same computer, &#38; an ip camera

  No matter what method I tried to get a camera to show up, I could not. I use tons of programs to view multi sites, but this one has stumped me. It has all these confusing modules to add and remove. I could not simply point an IP address in the system to view the camera. A normal camera program will allow you to input the IP address of the camera and it will show up. Pass this software up and go with another one.

  Pros

  This is the best cctv software I have even seen. It has everything I need, and I love its tagging system. This is a very useful function that I cannot find in any other video surveillance software.

  Cons

  The requirement to install Microsoft .net 3 may be a little bit annoying. But once it is installed, the program works like a charm.

  The programme works as stated in the manual, with very stable logging, motion detecting and networking functions. I bought a 4-channels which just cost me 35 bucks, which is very cheap.

  video streaming is smooth, motion detection is accurate, the program is stable, and I can see all feeds of my cheap capture card (many other surveillance programs do not support pico2000 capture card).

  1) I run it for 3 days, kept recording and networking, never got a crash. <p>2) Motion detection is reliable. <p>3) Reasonable and friendly UI design. <p>4) SpyCenter is super useful for me, b'cos I need to monitor my offices in multiple locations.
