Used ColorPix for Windows?
Editors’ Review
If you've found the perfect color for the background of your new Web site but don't know the code or RGB values, ColorPix can tell you. It doesn't look like much and doesn't seem to offer the depth of features promised, but it accurately provided the color for any number of options we threw at it.
ColorPix installs without any problems, but the process seems a bit dated as does the program's layout. It may be a tool to help you build a more attractive Web site, but no effort has been made on ColorPix's unappealing interface. Although the window is a decent size, the toolbar at the top looks clunky and crammed together. The Windows Help file format wasn't supported on our system, but the program offers few options, so it wasn't too hard to figure out without any guidance. You can open a file to view or paste an item directly onto the interface. From there, you just place your mouse over any color and the Web-safe code, hex code, and red, green, and blue values are displayed. The program doesn't just work on Web pages you copy and paste onto the screen; it can also handle Word and other documents. You can print with the color code info. on the item. Although the publisher promises ColorPix can help you choose complementary colors, we found no specific options for this.
ColorPix can tell you the specific codes and values for nearly any color, but the publishers could have spent some time making the program more appealing and streamlined.
