I started using Codewrite back when it was first released in the early 1990's. I had been a Brief user, but Borland bought Brief and then killed it. Unfortunately Borland did the same thing with Codewright.
I have since switched to Slickedit. I've been using Slickedit for the last eight years and love it. I'd highly recommend Slickedit as a replacement for Codewright.
Greatest Programming Editor Ever
C4Embedded4ever
Pros
Too many great features to list, almost everything a serious software/firmware professional needs except the compiler/linker itself. Flexible, configurable, programmable, or just use it with the great out-of-the-box defaults. Been using CodeWright since V1.0 and I still haven't plumbed the full depths of its plethora of capabilities. And did I mention that it's fast too?!?!?
Cons
A little glitchy on rare occasions under Windows 7 - but not bad for a product that was "frozen" back in the Win XP days. It is no longer enhanced nor supported, but you can still buy copies at:

Even at $299, I think it is a small price to pay for the tool that has increased my software development productivity by far more than any other software tool I've ever owned - even given the fact that it is permanently frozen at V7.5 !!!!
Summary
I have been developing software and firmware continuously since the 1970s, and there is no hesitation on my part in saying that CodeWright is far and away the very best programmer's editor for Windows that was ever created. Buy it. Use it. Love it. Prosper. You'll wonder how you ever got by with lesser editors. The only thing that would make CodeWright better is for someone to buy the rights to it and resume enhancing and supporting it - and for more platforms than just windows (Apple, Android, Linux, etc.)

Updated on Sep 3, 2013
CodeWright IS still available for purchase, the two previous posters simply did not look hard enough. Strong tool
MDGraves
Pros
Very powerful
Cons
Complicated options
Summary
Use it if you own the licenses. I don't know Boreland's or license rules now that it is retired / no longer supported.
bad link to Borland
Engunir
Pros
After looking over the shoulder of a co-developer that uses it, it seems like a handy tool.
Cons
I can't seem to get a copy (via CNET); and I don't even see it listed on Borland's site.
