For such a simple game, Bubble Bomb strikes us as surprisingly addictive. As in many other Lines-style games, your job is to earn points by clearing groups of like-colored bubbles from the screen. Every time you score 150 points, the game awards you a bomb you can use to get out of a jam. You'll find a mode that lets you play against the clock, as well as an unlimited mode where you keep going until you exhaust all potential combinations. The program's graphics and sound effects get the point across just fine, and we appreciate the ability to play in window mode, to disable the background texture, and to mute the audio. After only a few minutes with Bubble Bomb, we found ourselves compulsively clicking away at the bubbles, eager to best our own high score. This game makes a quality choice for both experienced puzzle aficionados as well as newbies.
