View, mark up, share, measure, and annotate 3D CAD files and 2D drawings.
The 3D-Tool Free Viewer is a dynamic viewer for 3D and 2D CAD files. This gives you the ability to Visualize, Cross Section, Measure/Markup and Explode Assemblies in 3D. It can read STL, 3MF files, and native 3D-Tool files (EXE/DDD), but does not provide the ability to save your modifications or markup files; for that you would need one of the low cost paid versions: Basic, Advanced, or Premium. The upgrade versions allow you to restructure assemblies, create exploded views, and animations using a very simple interface. Collaboration is easy, 3D-Tool produces zipped self-viewing executable files of your CAD projects, which can be e-mailed and displayed on any PC without pre-installation or licensing. The user interface allows anybody to view your models, zoom in on details, or simply look inside your models using dynamic cross sections. Views from any angle can be printed or saved as pictures.Need to open more types of 3D model files, like OBJ, ASC, 3DS, even 2D DWG? Simply upgrade to a Basic license. Or, add Neutral file reading with the Advanced version (Step, Iges, Sat, Parasolid). The Premium upgrade will open up the ability to directly read most all major CAD system files; Solidworks, Creo, CATIA, NX, Inventor, Rhino. It comes with a Converter to convert those files to STEP or other Neutral file types.

Pros
Superimposing multiple models for comparing, or merging mulitple imports into one export file. Transparency and dynamic sectioning works great.
Cons
Some versions of DXF have arrow head or line font issues.
Summary
Great for Large Assemblies

Summary
I've got to have Opengl hardware acceleration for my large assemblies, and 3D-Tool uses it well. I tried a couple other viewers in preparing for a design review, the eye candy effects were nice, but they were snail slow.
Love the 3D Notes function

Summary
I love the 3D-Notes that you can attach to any part of the assembly geometry. When 'marking up' a 3D model as feedback to a vendor, they make it very clear what your comments relate too. Can't do that with eDrawings, which costs to 5 times more.
