3D Christmas Screensaver for Windows

This well-designed holiday-themed screensaver is a fine way to get in the Christmas spirit. In 3D Christmas Screensaver, you'll see several tykes ice-skating around a snowy landscape to the sound of Christmas carols.

Though this concept may not sound very exciting, the program's multitude of camera angles give you many perspectives on the scene and lend the screensaver an almost cinematic feel. The screensaver failed to run on one of our test machines, but we suspect a conflict with our 3D graphics card rather than any fundamental problem with the software. Other than that, we had no problem with the graphics, which are polished and free of artifacts. The falling snow, which seems to almost jump out of your screen, is an especially nice touch. The trial version disables many of the more advanced features, but you can toggle the MIDI-based music and determine the amount of onscreen fog and snow.

We do think 3D Christmas Screensaver's nag screen is rather large and noticeable, but if you're looking for a family-oriented screensaver to help celebrate the holidays, this one should fit the bill nicely.
