• A very very good game engine.

  Pros

  It's fairly easy to use, but also able to create complex games, making it suitable for beginners or experts. It's even coming with iOS and Android support soon. Not to mention it's free for the most part, with only some features being reserved for subscribers.

  Cons

  Only one con I can think of is the lack of 3D capability, however this is being added soon from what I have heard, so I have very little to complain about.

  Summary

  All in all, one of, if not the best game engine there is.

I have been a member for nearly two years and within this two years the editor as grown tremendously and still continues to grow as we speak, a very easy to use editor, completely free with ton's of brilliant features, i will continue to use 001 for years to come, well worth the download! 10/10

  Pros

  A powerful engine with easy to use tools that is quickly developing with it's small, yet dedicated team. New members are always welcomed nicely and helped by the experienced.

  Cons

  Although powerful, it is missing some of the features that some of the other engines have, such as online multiplayer.

  Pros

  Easy to use with no skills in programming or pixel art required as it comes with a graphical scripting editor and plenty of resources. Also there are a LOT of free community-made resources, tutorials etc. on Engine001.com.

  Cons

  Can't position the camera for 1st person etc. and a few bugs.

  Summary

  A powerful and versatile game maker, easy to use, and plenty of help on the forums. A good entry-level game maker.

  Pros

  What I like most about this is that you can make your own RPG in no time! All you need is a game idea and the rest is handled by the program. I heard the 3D version is coming out soon.

  Cons

  I'm more of a programming guy, so I'd like some scripts (I'm talking C++ or BASIC, etc here) and it crashes frequently on my PC. It might just be me though. Also, there is a screen in the home page to make you visit the homepage. It's just me, but...

  Summary

  Bottom line, I think it's good overall and deserves a 4 out of 5.

  Pros

  It's completely free and gives you a variety of powerful and versatile methods to create any game you imagine in a extremely simple way. No knowledge of code is needed or any skills in pixel art as your provided with a variety of styles of art.

  Cons

  Not really any there may be bugs occasionally but they are quickly fixed once reported.

  Summary

  Overall the best and easiest to use game maker I've used and the cheapest!

  Pros

  Easy, Free, Quick, Customizable, Limitless. From what i have tried there is nothing better for making RPG, Action, Shooter, Gta clone or adventure games.

  Cons

  It is by no means flawless. Few bugs, no standard sounds and crap music, can lag on detailed maps, no alpha support for sprites and no control over installer spec's. puzzle, Fps and car racing games may be easier to make on Game Maker.

  Summary

  If you want to make an RPG, Action, Shooter, Gta clone or adventure game get it. Its easy to use, quick and pretty limitless. However if you want to make a puzzle, Fps or car racing game- there are better engines out there.

  Pros

  Perfectly puts together medieval and modern day action games. Highly advanced script inserter makes it easy to make high contrast cutsceens. Can adjust characters extreamly well. Lots a blood (I consider that a good thing) but thats up to you.

  Cons

  Not much selection for building structures, sometimes it just gets annoying to cooperate with. Takes longer than anyting I've ever used to understand. Not much selection for enemys other than humans.

  Summary

  With a few annoying characteristics, but lots of detailed possibilities, I have to say this is a very good software.
