"Great tool for extracting files from an iBackup."

    October 29, 2012  |   By Livy86

    Version: iPhone Backup Extractor 4.0.6

    Pros

It can extract virtually any kind of file from your backup easy and fast, it's a great tool if you can't otherwise access the files. Expert Mode gives you access manually to the backup files. Also deals with encrypted backups, which could be a life-saver for many.

    Cons

Registration is a bit complicated, and the interface could do with some more colour, in my opinion.

    Summary

Worth it's money, I reccommend! No spyware/adware, you can just unselect the option to install any other software that comes along with it.

"Uselss free version & bundled with Linkury Malware"

    October 24, 2012  |   By lemony17

    Version: iPhone Backup Extractor 4.0.6

    Pros

    nothing...

    Cons

This has been nothing but a headache program. I wanted to try it out before buying, but you cant do anything to test the free version out. I read, FULL VERSION TRIAL... thats a lie.

Not only is the trial useless, but its bundled with Linkury Toolbar which has Babylon Toolbar - BOTH are Malware and has been a problem to remove.

    Summary

Its crap and misleading. Dont try it unless you want malware.

"iPhone Backup Extractor - The 'free' version explained."

    September 28, 2012  |   By Reincubate

    Version: iPhone Backup Extractor 4.0.5

    Pros

Reincubate were the first company to offer both an iTunes backup recovery solution and encrypted iTunes backup support for everyone.

Free - This can open all backups (encrypted on non-encrypted) to view files. It can also extract any file from a backup, but only a maximum of two at a time. It doesn't included full conversion of the SQLite database (contact, calendars, notes, sms, etc.) to usable universal formats, but you can test each standard Apple databases for up to four records. It also doesn't include email support for complex data recovery, although we can try and point in the right direction.

Home Licence - Is just like the free version, except there are no limits on files or conversion features for non-encrypted backups and you get 12 month email support regarding the application, corrupt or lost backup data for non-encrypted backups.

Professional Licence - Same as above but has no restrictions on encrypted backups and support is focused on what is possible for all backups.

    Cons

If you have any problems, issues, questions regarding iTunes backup extractor and recovery, why not contact our support. We are here to help and always continue to improve our products, feedback is always welcome.

    Summary

Disclaimer; this is a post by Reincubate, makers of the original and #1 iPhone Backup Extractor.

    "Works but dishonest desciption"

    September 2, 2012  |   By jhgreenstein

    Version: iPhone Backup Extractor 4.0.1

    Pros

The free programme works OK tho' the interface is a bit old fashioned. Couldn't load it using the CNET application so loaded it directly.

    Cons

I was going to purchase it as it's 1/4 the price of Dr Fone but after it falsely claimed that the free edition is fully functional - which it's not - I decided not to buy it and do the backup manually using Dr Fone. This BTW you can't do with this programme.

    Summary

Let them be honest and then maybe people will buy it.

"Well worth the $25 to recover my photos"

    May 21, 2012  |   By bugmeifnoth

    Version: iPhone Backup Extractor 3.3.7

    Pros

It does what it says it will
    Relatively easy to use

    Cons

Price - is it worth $25 to you?

    Summary

My iphone was recently stolen and I unfortunately had not signed up for the icloud photostream. While I was fortunate to have backed up my emails, calendar and contacts through icloud, I did not backup my photos or videos. It was very important to me to get these digital memories back and well worth the $25 paid. This program enables you to access your contacts, calendar, SMS texts, voicemails, call logs, notes, photos and videos. It was a life saver for me and if it's worth $25 to you then you should definitely get it!

    "Waste of time"

    April 16, 2012  |   By Bardia1099

    Version: iPhone Backup Extractor 3.3.7

    Pros

    None that I could see.

    Cons

This program is not even really "Free" to try. All I was trying to do is import some iPhone text messages and it wont even allow you to import more than 4 of the oldest messages that you have without registering.
The interface is neither flexible nor user friendly.
It does not have usable options either.

    Summary

Don't waste your time. You'll be un-installing this program shortly after installing it.

    "OMG, I LOVE you!"

    April 5, 2012  |   By ardera

    Version: iPhone Backup Extractor 3.3.7

    Pros

    Works EXACTLY as described!!

    Cons

Free version only restores 2 files, have to pay to register, to get the rest of the files.

    Summary

My son killed his iphone, so we got a new one, he got my old, and I got the new one. I did a backup before I set up the new phone, then restored it with my back up, and NO PICTURES! Why do I always forget that the pics don't come back when restoring from a backup! I never even imported them to my computer!! This app got them back with NO problems!! Even the video I took was there. Even though I put it as a con, that you have to pay to get more than 2 files, it is SOOOOOOOO worth the $24.95!!! Even if I only ever use this once, it has made up for the price!

BTW, I don't think it is that hard at all, to figure it out... Even a caveman can do it. ;)

"Works as described, worth the $25"

    January 24, 2012  |   By DR0PFiRE

    Version: iPhone Backup Extractor 3.2.4

    Pros

    - Easy to use, automatically loads all your backup flies from itunes
    - a great way to recover lost or needed data from your iphone

    Cons

25$ maybe a little steep, would prefer a pricetag of under $20
but hey, it actually works, its not just some spam, knockoff crap product.

    Summary

first off im just a random guy, trying to help you out with this review, especially if you got in the situation i did- I lost my iphone, and recently bought a windows phone to replace it, I wanted to recover my contacts - this program was the only way i figured i could do achieve that, within 5 minutes of registered and one click, BOOM had my contacts list and numbers back, this program saved the day for me. impressed.

"Great software for extracting files created in Apps."

    December 13, 2011  |   By SphericalCube

    Version: iPhone Backup Extractor 3.2.4

    Pros

A really easy to use application, and in Expert Mode you can extract all sorts of files. I needed to retrieve some files I created in an App that was accidentally deleted. I found them in an old backup with this software, which I was very relieved about :)

    Cons

This is a pretty useful app. If pushed for some cons the free version doesn't have the data format options available other than to test with (unless you register). But you could find the databases if really needed to and the website was surprisingly helpful. The front-end also looked a little bit dated, but seriously don't let that put you off as the software does the job asked of it.

    Summary

I needed this for one a specific job and it did it very well for me. It really is useful little utility so I will be keeping it around as long as I have an iPhone.
