I use eDoc both at the workplace and also for personal use at home. It has so many features that I haven't yet used them all. I use MS office a lot and I really like the-add that allows me to send docs to eDoc as well as get them.
Cons
A little overwhelming with all the icons and product functions. It is intuitive for the basic scan features but, be prepared to read up on all the other features...it will be well worth your time!
Summary
Can't beat the value in this product, hands down. I have priced other products on the market and none come close to this one in terms of overall functionality versus the cost. I would recommend to family and friends!

Extremely easy to use, fully featured, great OCR functionality, converts PDF to Word very accurately, very useful Business Card scanning, support duplex scanning with auto document separation, now I can scan complete folders with just one click.

Totally unacceptable customer service/support and immoral business ethics.
Summary
After using for 3 years and accumulating thousands of documents, i now find myself unable to use the software.
The reason: Application crashed and customer support REFUSED to reset my product key.
On three previous occasions I managed to get the key reset after obtaining the personal email of one of the developers. However, on the third occasion they got hacked off at me requesting another re-set.
The rights management of this software is not acceptable. It requires THEM to activate your software every time you either restore a backup on your PC or even RESET the clock!
I have spent good money and invested HUNDREDS of hours in this product only to be let down by the people who took my money.
I have now abandoned all hope of having the software reset. All indexed data is gone. If you need to contact the developers, do so at pronto@bsi.gr. Please send him my regards! -

Purchased 3 days ago and still no proper working registration code. Sent many email with no response until I went to their website to use another contact. They will tell you to obtain registration code from reseller/reseller tells u to contact them.
Summary
Compete waste of time and money. Very poor support response turn around to obtain a registration key. 3 days later and I still don't have one after fully purchasing.
Last response I was told that I can use trial for 30 days until I can sort out the problem??? Save yourself the aggrevation... stay away from purchasing this software. -

If you get locked out you won't be able to get back in your software. I have sent 10 emails and no response.
Be better off with Paperport Pro they will even answer emails.

"Poor support: Built-in security invalidates the install key forever!"

The product is easy to use and very flexible. It takes some time and effort setting up the application to recognize complicated documents, but once it's done you're off and running from then on (unless the format of that document changes in the future). The product works smoothly and is very dependable under Windows XP, but not VISTA. Even the demo blows up under VISTA.
Cons
I will give you five good reasons not to buy this product: First, the company and product support is in Greece, so there is no phone support; only email (if you're lucky enough to get any response at all). Second, when you purchase and download the product you have to wait for the company to send you a valid installation key by postal mail. The first one I received didn't work. It took weeks to get a 2nd. Third, don't lose that document that gets mailed to you, because it also contains your Customer ID number (which is different from the installation key). Support requires your Customer ID number before they will even talk to you, but they don't mention this anywhere in their documentation. You don't realize this until you need support and by that time who knows what you did with the original document. Fourth, the installation key is only good for the machine dDocXL is installed on. After spending nearly a year building a large database of documents, our computer crashed. When we replaced the machine and attempted to reinstall xDocXL the installation key would not validate the new machine. Our data is locked up and we can't get any response from support, even though we still have our Customer ID number. Fifth, if for any reason, you happen to reset the time on your computer the program will invalidate the installation key and lock up the application. (I haven't tried this, but I came across it in the documentation.) I feel sorry for those people who are using this product, because it's a ticking time bomb. Eventually (for what ever reason) they are going to have to replace their computer with a different machine and when that happens they're going to find out just what kind of support they bought into.
