Great Tool if you know how to use it
AwesomeDare- Pros
- Does exactly what it says. you can duplicate the Windows task bar on other monitors or you can have each monitor show only the windows that are on that monitor show on the task bar. If you have a super wide wallpaper, you can have it show on multiple monitors. Very small footprint with zero registry entries so it's super easy to clean up.
- Cons
- Hasn't been updated since 2012. It would be nice if it could show different wallpapers from the same folder on different monitors so they slideshowed independently.
- Summary
- After installing and running zBar, right click on the double-screen icon in your task bar to configure options and wallpaper. And if you want it to run every time just make a shortcut in your startup folder.
Though it adds a second toolbar, it's not customizable
sckcd- Pros
- It adds a second toolbar.
- Cons
- It does nothing else. Does not start with Windows 7.- you have to manually click to start it. There is no options except when you right-click which produces 3 menu:show calendar, Reset (reset what - you don't offer me to set or change anything), and Task Manager. After I decide to download directly the latest version (ver.0.86 from the author's website). Still, no better luck.
- Summary
- The author's description of the program is impressive but remotely resembles what the program does.
A productivity tool for the multi-tasker.
mcdonr- Pros
- It opens a new taskbar on your other monitor and re-organizes the windows to reflect to which monitor they are located. Quite fast.
- Cons
- It's not the same as the built-in toolbar. It doesn't group the applications and treats them individually (which is a pro for me, but it's not a on/off feature). The pop-up preview is not live. But does it differently by showing the whole screen so you know exactly where the app is placed.
- Summary
- This tool, as the web site has mentioned, is only for those who as dual monitors. I'm using windows 7 64. I have tried also VirtuaWin which mimic's a certain linux gui environment that has 3 other virtual desktops.
