This freeware application promises to boost the performance of your Windows XP computer, but our tests found few bonuses and many flaws. Tweak Mechanic sports a basic and simple interface with radio buttons for eight options. Tweaking your XP, cleaning up junk files, improving Internet speed, and restoring Registry settings are all listed, but none are explained. Most offered tweaking features such as autoend tasks, the ability to tweak a hung up application, and the ability to increase speed for menu drops are normally and easily accomplished using Windows system applications. The poorly designed Clean Up Junk option fails to mention that the listed text lines are clickable shortcuts. Our tests failed to prove the Internet Speed option actually increased upload or download speeds. The listed help file is actually a shortcut to the company's Web site program-information page. Any level of user looking to tweak system performance can find many more beneficial and dependable utilities elsewhere.Publisher's description

"what the hell is this program for..."
Pros: umm it speed my xp shut down system and a lot of internet speed

Pros: It works...
Cons: Well for one thing if you X out of it it wont work, but the important thing is Mcafee site advisor marked its web site as unsafe (even though above it says mcafee trusts it, i went to the web site and was marked as unsafe because of an unsafe download, the only download there is for XP tweak mechanic! I scanned the download with Dr Web and it found Some binaryres and an adware program called onestep, but i scanned it here and it was clean, so do NOT download it from its website, just here

"This software itself is a mystery!"
Pros: This software has a good popup blocker which may work. Nobody can say for sure.
Cons: The options looks good but I am not sure whether those options work properly. May be this product contains just showing stuff not working stuff.
