"excellent ripper !!!"
Version: X Lossless Decoder 20110821
Pros
very convenient & easy to use CD ripper
Cons
does not find all the art work ( like in MAX, or in the Windows based dBpower & EAC !! ) but not an issue .. as it doesn't affect the sound quality..
Summary
a ripper easy to use, frequently updated .... ripper !!! best way to rip in multiple formats ...

"simple + fast = top marks"
Version: X Lossless Decoder 20110703
Pros
really quick, no-clutter interface, does all you want and more
Cons
documentation could be a bit better; if you're not tech savvy you might be lost at first
Summary
Uses all 4 of my quad cores to convert super-quick and does loads more besides. Who needs a GUI when you have this sort of efficiency? Properly excellent.

"Comprehensive, quick, easy, audio converter"
Version: X Lossless Decoder 20110508
Pros
Easy to use and fast. Easily converts FLAC to Apple Lossless so I can put my high-fidelity music into iTunes.
Cons
Documentation is a little sparse. The updates don't list what is changed/fixed. Gets 4 stars instead of 5 only because I haven't explored everything it does.
Summary
I use it a lot. It's easily the fastest, easiest audio codec converter I've yet found.

"Works well, simple to use, fast conversion time"
Version: X Lossless Decoder 20110312
Pros
Really easy to use, a simple drag-and-drop onto the icon and it converts.
Cons
Took me a minute to realize nothing would actually open to begin converting, shoulda read the readme first!
Summary
As someone not too geeky but wanting a simple converter, this is the one.

"Cool Cool Co"
Version: X Lossless Decoder 20101128
Pros
AIFF to FLAC for free. Simple easy quick. Does the job.
Cons
Might be a little tricky for newbies. No real interface. Open, set the output prefs drag and drop.
-
"Not up to Mac standards yet"
Version: X Lossless Decoder 20101010
Pros
Good error detection, supports more formats than iTunes, including FLAC and Ogg.
Cons
At least on my iMac, when doing parallel rips (2 tracks at a time which is default) performance was really slow. Single track rips were OK.
Album art and other metadata management non-existent (at least I didn't find it).Summary
Can't see why any Mac user would prefer this over the integrated and easy to use approach of iTunes, unless they must rip into a format not supported by the latter (eg. FLAC, Ogg).

"Good alternative to Quicktime, iTunes, Max 0.9.1"
Version: X Lossless Decoder 20101010
Pros
Good quality of rips. High bitrates possible (over 330 k/sec possible), able to use 48 KHz sampling (Max is unable to do this). Excellent error correction (As good as Max, superior to iTunes/Quicktime)
Cons
Album downloading useless. Finiky about the CD's and physical condition.
Summary
It's a good program. It's certainly capable of being as good as Max 0.9.1, it is more flexible on the sampling rate, where Max is limited to the master recording sample rate. It's needs a bit of work on the album cover downloading.
It's a good alternative to Max, it's superior to iTunes/Quicktime for the quality of the file conversions. -
"Does it all, costs 0, what else can you ask for?"
Version: X Lossless Decoder 20100918
Pros
Converts numerous formats of audio to other formats and much more.
Cons
Not the prettiest UI in the world. Don't like it, get a refund.
Summary
If you need to convert audio files (say for example flac to m4a), this is the bidness.
