Geared to the first-time non-linear video editor, Wondershare Video Editor provides all the freedom you need to arrange clips and music with a wealth of available filters and transitions. This is a beautiful and capable piece of software.
Effects, transitions, PIP: Wondershare Video Editor features a wide array of effects that become beautifully visible in the timeline. The results we achieved were tasteful, and we would be hard pressed to distinguish them from those of editing software that costs many times more.
Everything in view: You will like the fresh-looking black and purple interface with its well-indicated functions and discreet buttons and graphics. Although there is no dramatic departure from common NLE designs, we found our way around it incredibly quickly, because the playback and timeline panels are always kept fixed -- only the top left panel is taking the form of each function or effect.
Wealth of import and export options: Imported files from four different SD/HD sources were handled with ease. Export options are rich and geared for novice users with easy-to-understand decisions of device, format, social network, or DVD -- each with its own sub-options.
No effect or transition editor: This is the only feature that we feel is missing; with it, this app would be even better.
Wondershare Video Editor stands out as possibly the most beautiful and effective video software we have seen in a long time. It contains all the basic tools you need to enter the exciting world of NLEs. All in all, it brings enjoyment to video editing, and we definitely recommended it for novice NLE editors that want to be creative without the straitjacket of predetermined workflows and templates.
At $29.99, we feel it's a bargain.
Editors' note: This is a review of the trial version of Wondershare Video Editor 3.6.0.
From Wondershare Software:
Filmora is an all-in-one home video editing production software that has powerful functionality and a fully stacked feature set. Filmora is a solid app that gives you the features and styles that have been previously only available to professional film makers that have a certain level of experience and the expensive applications to match. Filmora has a simple drag and drop interface, which gives you the freedom to be artistic with the story that you want to create. Key features: Text and titles: support for animated text. Music library: support for adding your music tracks. Overlays and filters: specifically designed filters and overlays to give your a professional finish. Elements: Still and motion graphic support. Unique visual effects: you can incorporate over 100 visual effects. Speed control: Slow motion and time lapse support.
I can only recommend this software. Delivers exactly what is promised. That being said, those who don't plan to upgrade this trial to the full version or don't necessarily need the latest version are recommended to install the previous version since the full version is now available for free. Sadly Cnet only hosts the outdated trial setup as far as I have seen, so I hope it is allowed if I link to a different software platform (The free installation setup can still be downloaded from verified-download.com/file/D6jeh). I think it most private users are better off getting the slightly older version, since the latest trial comes with heavy restrictions and only includes minor fixes and improvements.
Video export is slow, Audio is out of sync, Terrible customer service, 30 day refund is a gimmick.
I have used an older version of filmora. Recently made a purchase and updated to the version 8.0 in the hope of a 30 day money back guarantee. It was the start of problems. The software infected my computer with buggy updates causing the program to crash. The video export being slow and audio out of sync from the clips most of the time. All the technical support did was nothing but pushing the alternate updates with bugs. They started to play games when I asked for the refund in the event of technical problems that arouse after installation. I have replied them that I am going to consumer court. The social media in FB blocked me for asking help. My emails were blocked. I have contacted my community support for filing a case against them at consumer court or small court. A company with no telephone or chat support other than email customer service, that too from China. I expect nothing less. Such scam artists these guys are. Please beware !!!
