This feature-rich application helps you regain optimal PC performance, though it isn't as kind to first-timers as we'd expected. WinTuneup Pro's comprehensible UI houses multiple features to boost your computer's effectiveness, although it lacks a help file to get started. Using its manual options we quickly located and carefully removed junk files; cleaned the system Registry; and erased history, caches, and invalid shortcuts from our machine. For rapid cleanings, there's a wizard component, although it doesn't allow any user adjustments to its findings and instantly deletes everything. The good thing is you can effortlessly create system restore points and back up the Registry before scanning. We like that WinTuneup Pro deletes cookies, typed URLs, and temporary files leftover from surfing, though it only supports Internet Explorer and Netscape. Secure file deletion using overwrites is a great inclusion, except this program takes it one step further. For extra protection, WinTuneup Pro will even scan your drives for previous deletions and remove any leftover traces from the supposed free space. Though you'll have to navigate around it on your own and you're only given 20 fixes during the trial, this full-featured software is worth the time and effort.
