From Microsoft :If you are not running Windows XP SP1, install SP1a for security and reliability updates to the Windows XP family of operating systems. There is no benefit to installing SP1a if you are already running Windows XP SP1. We do not recommend that you install SP1a if you are already running SP1. Windows XP SP1a is almost identical to Windows XP SP1 except that the Microsoft virtual machine (VM) is removed in SP1a.

Pros: Its free.
Its from Microsoft.
Cons: Um, Service Pack 2 is available from Microsoft. Why are you still downloading this?

Cons: everything when i upgraded from sp1 i restarted my computer and i couldent use the taskbar at all then it finally came back then froze again good job bill gates good job keep making screw ups

Pros: the Sp2 / Sp3 are much better have tryed to install the above over the sp1 and trouble big time find the sp1 and remove it had no trouble with the sp2/sp3 pack now the i.e. 6 can do everything the so called great firefox can do and more!!!
Cons: Sp1 is Trash!!!
