Create and schedule macros for any Windows program and Web sites. WinTask Recording mode (object-oriented) generates the script for you; use the advanced editing capabilities to optimize it with more than 300 functions. Use WinTask to test applications and Web sites, measure response times, automate data entry, capture data from Web and paste into an application. Schedule the tasks under 2000/XP/2003 even logged out (not supported under Vista).

Version 3.6 has capture$ capturing a field which content changes every 1/10 secs was crashing has been fixed and fixed DBConnect function does not display the Windows prompt if the ODBC database does not exist, now, just an error is returned.

This time-saving program lets users automate repetitive tasks; unfortunately the recorded process doesn't run in the background but displays on the active screen. Wintask works by recording and saving almost any task as a macro script. It even can record data downloads from the Internet. Later, users can manually play the saved script, but the real time savings is to use the scheduler to automatically run the script.

We created and scheduled scripts for disk cleanup and a process to e-mail a designated group of files at certain intervals. Both scripts worked well. Even though the interface is well designed, we suggest users read through the examples before they use this program.

Following the simple instructions, even beginner-level users can easily automate tasks such as hard drive defrags, download security updates, and schedule Recycle Bin dumps. Advanced users can modify or create scripts using a Visual Basic type programming language.
