This uncomplicated application doesn't offer any groundbreaking features, but it does offer a quick alternative to using Windows Explorer to search for files. When the no-install Vunet Find is launched it creates an index of your files, then offers a drab but easy-to-follow interface to search for entries. A menu bar offers only two options: Action and Help. Help includes brief about information but no user guide, while Action has only one option to update the index. There's a single field to enter search terms and only two ways to narrow your search: File Type and Size. You can opt to look for all files or search for archive audio, video, or image files. In our tests, VunetFind impressively returned accurate results much faster than Explorer, especially when scanning an entire drive with the latter. Unlike the Windows' standard tool, however, you can't modify or otherwise manage files and folders. Once you locate a file, the only button offered is Open Folder, and this just launches Explorer with the folder displayed. No other settings or options are offered. This no-frills search tool is easy to use and effective, and its uninspired interface can be forgiven with its freeware status.

"Very Fast - Much faster than Windows Find Files"

I couldn't believe how fast this was. Once everything was indexed, it literally took seconds to find files, instead of the LONG minutes Find Files normally takes.

Summary
This is a great tool for finding files fast. As a test, I typed in "phonics" and I was able to find all files related to phonics within seconds. Using this application was faster than clicking on the drive, the directory, then browsing for the files/folders I was looking for. Not only am I going to use this for "finding" lost files, but I'll be using this to access files faster! Thanks creators!
