  Pros

  FREE!!! And it is very powerful for medium-advanced developing, you should add the MSDN collection to get the most out of it.

  Not as powerful as the big brother of this product(but come on... it's free!)

  Pros

  Visual Wed Developer is designed for novices, but will suit the needs of more advance users. The enviroment is very similar to that of Microsoft Visual Studio, but differs in that it is free (VS.Net 2005 costs $800) and simpler to learn. The development web server is a nice touch too.

  Cons

  To really make the most out of VWD, you must download SQL Server Express Edition 2005 and MSDN Library, which add another 400MB to the mix. Also, the installer relies on the BITS service, which doesn't always work properly, and forces you to dowload the whole thing manually, extract the image file and then install it. Note: The other express edition products (except SQL Server) share similar or the same problems.
