What's new in this version:

Version 9.0b improved HDV/AVCHD reading and support for MPJEG-encoded AVI files, and Fixes a bug that prevented Vegas Movie Studio from opening the audio streams of MPEG-2 files that use stereo AC-3 encoding, problem that could prevent the application from opening, problem with M2TS files that could cause a crash after playback.

  Pros: none i can't reciommend

  Cons: Viruses,
  Installed viruses appeared in locations
  sony online entertainment
  psoeact.dll
  restore\A0019549.dll (infected with w32/horst.gen32)
  Downloaded program files\w32/Horst.gen32

  Summary: Don't risk dealing with this one. It is Malware at its worst
  Norman Malware detected it and removed it

  Version: Vegas Movie Studio Platinum 9.0b

  "Relatively easy to use outta the box..."

  Pros: Relative ease of use out of the box, starightforward design, low learning curve for the basics. Various movie encoding choices.

  Cons: I can't play around with the credits as I would like to do, then again, to get into the more intermediate/advanced concepts has a steep learning curve...Wish there was a H264 editing option, iPod/iPhone rendering sticks to iTunes but not to my iPod

  Summary: If you're going to invest, get Final Cut Pro or the Adobe series, because in my opinion it can't do that much more than what iMovie or Windows Movie Maker or other free video editing programs can do and then encode on a free encoding software, if I ... read more >>

  "Great effect"

  Pros: It has a lots of effect that you would like to use...A pro editor would really love this...

  Cons: the ouput is big a HD video with the length of 5 minutes came out with 8GB it's HUGE It's complicated for those who still new in editing video a daily video editor may fully use it in a week but I'm still trying figuring out for most of the it.

  Summary: I actually love this but I more love the 8 pro...

  "Pretty Good Video Editor"

  Pros: 1. Timeline based editing that allows multiple clips to be added, along with audio and other tracks.
  2. Comes with audio and DVD creation software to ensure of a good DVD burn of your video.
  3. Price. You get alot of software for the money.

  Cons: 1. There's a learning curve that will take longer than a weekend.
  2. Video review screen is a tad buggy...wants to resize when clicked.
