Need to send, say, an AutoCAD document to someone who doesn't have that program installed? Universal Document Converter offers a simple solution to this problem. It lets you convert into TIFF, GIF, JPEG, PNG, BMP, or PDF format any document that you can print. In our test, the program did a good, speedy job. The interface is very straightforward. Universal Document Converter installs as a virtual printer, so using the program is as easy as clicking the Print button. The utility can even automatically name converted files. The program lets you choose resolution, color depth, and compression to achieve a good compromise between file size and image quality.

    "No meaningful support - NONE"

    September 08, 2014   |   By harrietlan

    Version: Universal Document Converter 6.4

    Pros

Versatile virtual printer driver - when it functions.

    Cons

And if it stops working, DO NOT count on ANY support, outside of the information made available in their sophomoric tutorials. Unable to get ANYONE at the fCoder group to respond to my pleas for help with their product that suddenly stopped working after a successful initial install. VERY DISAPPOINTING EXPERIENCE!!!

    Summary

    POORLY SUPPORTED PRODUCT.

"I recommend UDC if you electronically transfer files"

    September 09, 2013   |   By mark-boone

    Version: Universal Document Converter 6.0

    Pros

There is nothing worse than discovering that the once original write-up you crafted is now floating around out there on someone else's website. Now I can relax in knowing that all of my documents are copy-protected before sending them out to anyone. That's what Universal Document Converter does for me.

    Cons

    Anything works fine for my

    Summary

As an author and professional writer, I am constantly employed with the task of electronically transferring files and documents to editors, publishers, and other industry professionals. fCoder's Universal Document Converter has removed the entire hassle from this process which now enable me to be more proficient in my craft. Whether designing and submitting images for a new book cover or submitting a manuscript, their software allows me to successfully convert any file into the required format.

It also allows me to protect my work. Maintaining its integrity of authenticity is vital when getting your material published. It is quite common when working on a book project or magazine article write-up that files transfer hands numerous times. During those instances, many things may and often do occur including third party alterations and even copying of your work.

There is nothing worse than discovering that the once original write-up you crafted is now floating around out there on someone else's website. Now I can relax in knowing that all of my documents are copy-protected before sending them out to anyone. In addition to being protected, all of the other technical difficulties relating to transferring files are now eliminated. That's what Universal Document Converter does for me.

Before using this amazing software, on many occasions I have ran into the dilemma of sending and receiving files that were unable to be opened because of format issues. This can really slow things down. In the literary world, it is all about meeting deadlines, submissions, editing, and meeting more deadlines. There is very little room for delays of any kind, especially when considering something as simple as not being able to open or read a file. I often recommend the Universal Document Converter to friends, family, and other industry professionals. If you work on your computer or electronically transfer files, I highly recommend downloading this software.

    "Demo version not worth downloading"

    May 30, 2013   |   By kessiebear

    Version: Universal Document Converter 5.7

    Pros

Great program; can convert to pretty much any format you want

    Cons

Demo version has huge wstermark on converted docs so you can't actually use them in any professional capacity once converted. That being said, the product description does specify this, but I didn't assume it would be so large.

    Summary

Wouldn't bother downloading if you're not willing to pay for full version. Doesn't seem overpriced for its capabilities though.
