UltraVNC
Publisher's Description
From Ultra VNC Team:
UltraVNC is a software that can display the screen of another computer (via internet or network) on your own screen. The program allows you to use your mouse and keyboard to control the other PC remotely. It means that you can work on a remote computer, as if you were sitting in front of it, right from your current location.
If you provide computer support, you can quickly access your customer's computers from anywhere in the world and resolve help-desk issues remotely.

"Well played and Free"

Cons
None to think of.

"Failed To Connect To Server..."
Version: UltraVNC 1.1.8
Pros
Wasted half hour...
Cons
Wasted half hour...
Summary
I spend about an half hour between the 2 computers on my desk, which would not connect. Google search shows a possible DHCP conflict, but there's also this mystery password which I had to change. No joy. The readme file sends me to the website forums, but I aint going there, so "Get Real!".

"An unstable mess."
Version: UltraVNC 1.1.8
Pros
Encrypted connections and file transfers.
Cons
If you can convince it to connect and stay connected.
Summary
I thought I'd try UltraVNC 1.1.8 for the encryption capabilities. Logging in from home would be useful occasionally. I also wanted to see how it impacted the performance of my older, single core file/print server compared to TightVNC, which I'd installed previously, and which used a lot of processor time on the server.
Errors I've had: Failed to get server address, authentication rejected, and frozen screens. There was nothing wrong with my router's local LUT, nor my password, nor my network speeds. I finally gave up, and reinstalled TightVNC. No more problems. I never got to the point of checking the resource usage, but no matter what, I can deal with the processor time over UltraVNC's headaches.
UltraVNC developers, I definitely appreciate your work, but you really need to work on the issues that UltraVNC has. My boss is the type to actually donate to FOSS projects that are useful to us, but not for this.
