"Contains a Trojan."
Version: TweakVI Basic 1.0 build 1140
Pros
Works pretty well for what it does.
Cons
Found a trojan imbedded deeply inside. Removed it with iobit 360.
Summary
Stay away from these tweaks.
-
"Extremely limited in use."
Version: TweakVI Basic 1.0 build 1115
Pros
* It`s free
* It`s good for older versions of Windows.Cons
Almost useless for most people.
Summary
I have tried two versions of this application, including the current one. Despite what the other reviewer said, it does not contain a virus (AVG is known for erratic results).
As for Tweak VI, almost all of it`s tweaks apply only to Windows XP and older. For Vista and 7, about 90% of the settings are non-functional. But hey,....if your still using Windows 98 or XP, this is for you!! -
"AVG says it contains a virus!"
Version: TweakVI Basic 1.0 build 1115
Pros
Nada. Nothing. Zero.
Cons
AVG says it contains a virus!
Summary
Never tried the thing.

"I guess I wanted a fresh windows install anyway.."
Version: TweakVI Basic 1 build 1100
Pros
Absolutely nothing.
Cons
Well, I'm back now after reinstalling my operating system. Corrupted and/or deleted system files. Windows would not load at all after using this. Save yourself a lot of time and look somewhere else for a product like this.

"Use if you don't want to use your computer....."
Version: TweakVI Basic 1 build 1100
Pros
I have to be honest, I didn't use this product long enough to find any pros...
Cons
...but I did use it long enough to find that it doesn't tell you the consequences of certain selections, like My Computer refusing to display any of my drives when opened. It does one thing right...it asks you if you want to create a restore point.
Summary
This program will lock you out of your computer faster than the administrator can!!!!!!!

"Cons definitely outweigh the pros"
Version: TweakVI Basic 1 build 1100
Pros
Allows you to easily perform functions that may be difficult for most users to do without knowing something about the Windows Registry, is fairly easy to use.
Cons
Seems to cause unwanted side effects. My computer was having problems connecting to the internet, Windows Sidebar was not loading right, and there were a few other problems, all of which began after I installed this and stopped when I removed it.
Summary
Download at your own risk. This program will allow you only limited control of your system unless you purchase the full verison. However, after the laundry list of problems that were occuring when I was running this application I wouldn't recommend it.

"This free version is not good."
Version: TweakVI Basic 1 build 1088
Pros
I did not even start trying it cause after downloading it i found out that it brought to my PC a lot of useless **** advertising together with a program itself-i deinstalled it on the spot.
Cons
This version is created just for advertising, and has not been properly done. In order to obtain such program working properly one must buy commerce version.
Summary
Have nothing to say.

"Not worth the time..."
Version: TweakVI Basic 1 build 1085
Pros
It does have some nice features but nothing like the old Tweak UI for XP.
Cons
First it takes a good deal of extra time and resources just for this program to load at startup. It eats tons of time just getting itself booted. It nags you about getting the paid for version. It causes lockups of Vista Premium that are not recoverable without a complete reboot. It's incredibly difficult to find anything on their poorly organized menu structure. In all, I'd say skip this one. Even for free it's not worth it.

"Basic Means Just That"
Version: TweakVI Basic 1 build 1081
Pros
Sections are nicely organized, so it should be easy to navigate to the areas you'd like to optimize. Shortcuts to get to the Windows System Utilities are convenient. Customizing Start Menu items is easy too.
Cons
Don't expect to any serious system optimizing without upgrading to the paid versions.

"JUNK"
Version: TweakVI Basic 1 build 1081
Cons
You can't install the software, without your e-mail..i waited about 10 minutes that the program to process my e-mail adress..and nothing..and if you don't want to register, you must enter SKIP in the e-mail field..i tried, yet nothing...what kind of piece of junk is this..??
