There are so many desktop security utils out there, and I have to admit I have tried lots of them... and I wouldn't recommend many. This proggy delivers what it states, its got a small footprint at about 5.0kb mem, and it has good useful full features. Competive price. I have not tested this extensively, but I have not found any flaws yet. I have been able to use complex special character entries (off-chart unicode and such) without fail. Although I really should test it more before giving it 5stars, considering the shear quantity of near-useless or flawed competition, or peer-utils that cost way more money, this has got to be one of the better utils of its kind around. Considering that, I am sure the company will be able to persist and thus should continue to improve on it. Parents and techies alike should check this out. (You might also check out DesktopKeeper.) I am not affiliated in any way with this company or the other one I mentioned.
None so far.
This application was priceless at a recent tradeshow where we had demos running but we did not want people passing by to mess things up.
Configuration is clean and easy to understand. Good documentation in proper English.
This is am app that most people do not need or will not ever need but if you do you cannot do without it.
Great niche app.
BTW Website has version 4.0! Download.com is pretty out of date.
Installs wacky system hooks to accomplish locking. Some antitrojan tools don't like their DLLs. This could be so much better
You can enter special chars when you set the passw, but they will fail trying to unlock the screen.
On first use, set the option to use both passwords (logged user and a new one), so you dont get clogged.
Good program... just what I was looking for.
It took me forever to find this unique app. Does the job.
This is something I have been looking for for a long time. I am not really sure about the other comment - the user says he has bypassed the program but did not explain how! I am assuming that comment was made by the author of ActiveScreenLock as it uses the same poor English as their website.
