From TightVNC Software :TightVNC is a remote control package derived from VNC, with many new features, improvements, and bugfixes over the standard VNC version. It works well with slow network links such as modem connections, provides more configuration options in the server, includes improved Java viewer, and more. The modified servers and viewers are fully compatible with the original VNC software.
Version 1.3.9 adds file transfers, improved server performance, and an enhanced interface.

Version: TightVNC 1.3.10
"Not good for anything multimedia."
Pros: If you have a windows machine that doesn't come with terminal server, this will give you access to the desktop. No ads or spyware included.
Cons: No audio. If you have applications on the desktop that require sound forget about it. Anything using video will not refresh fast enough to be watchable. If you have files you can transfer them to your computer but don't play them on the desktop.
Summary: Good for office but not so good for home.
