Editors' reviewThis free application impressively allows you to schedule programs to run and close and hands out quick pop-up reminders. System Scheduler lets you schedule specific times to open programs and even send keystrokes to be entered. You can set events to run as often as every minute or as sporadically as once a year. Schedule the program's window watcher to close, minimize, or automatically send key presses to any opened window by simply entering the title that will appear in the title bar of your browser or file and the time you want the action to occur. We also like that it includes pop-up reminders with optional WAV audio files for important events and you can hit snooze for the reminder to reappear in so many user-specified minutes. For automatic program launching and quick reminders, System Scheduler is an excellent choice and best of all--it's free.
System Scheduler runs totally independently of the MS Windows Task Scheduler and has no dependencies on it. You can schedule popup reminders so you will never forget those important appointments and things to do. Reminders, tasks, and other events can be set to run once or every minute, hour, day, week, month, or year and several variations on these. Popup Reminders can be snoozed as required. System Scheduler not only allows you to launch programs at scheduled times but also to send keypresses and mouseclicks to those programs. This allows you to not only schedule programs to run overnight or at the weekend but also get those programs to do useful things while unattended. The Free version of System Scheduler also includes a Window Watcher feature. The program will check for the existence of a particular window and send keypresses or send the window a close signal to terminate running applications. Useful for triggering actions or handling error messages while you are away.
