- Useless nice user interface - No synchronization, just "push" and "pull" (a new file on the "push" destination will not come on the "push" sender - tha's fine, only that's not synchronization, as they claim, is copying); - no VSS - not useable at the end, I uninstalled after the first half day
DO NOT BUY, THERE ARE MUCH BETTER AND CHEAPER PRODUCTS OUT THERE
I purchased this software because your literature says the program 'syncs' Outlook Contacts. Upon installation, I find that it is not bringing up all Outlook Contact Fields to sync. In particular it wont display the 'Notes', 'Birthdays', 'Anniversary', 'Category', 'Country', within an individual contact. This is unsatisfactory to me as I assumed your software would sync all outlook contacts fields. No where in your documentation does it say that it will only sync certain Outlook Contacts Fields. I've uninstalled and asked for a refund, but have had no response in two weeks from Support.
This product is slow beyond slow when working. Will not sync on a corporate network with firewalls. Syncing with a memory stick takes forever. In fact, just trying to open the software takes forever...
Use a paper and pencil...it will be faster than using this product!!!
I tried to get a refund after owning the software for 1 hour. They never replied to my request! Do not do business with them!
Installation directions wouldn't work and the "support" was terrible.
In November, I bought a second computer and thought Syncables sounded like a great idea to sync everything between my desktop and my laptop (both Windows 7). I read many great reviews on it so I tried the free version bundled with my new laptop. It didn't work and I should have quit there. I decided to try the purchased version anyway, based on the reviews.
I installed and followed the directions. The activation code that came with it didn't work. A Syncables screen came up and said I needed to respond to an email before I could use it. Never received an email. I asked for support and received the response "what email?" This made me very concerned!
Exchanged a few emails with the same support person. He finally gave me a new code which worked on my desktop. I then followed the directions to install the software on my laptop and found I needed another @#$% email. No email and no support. I gave up and contacted Syncables and asked for my money back. NO RESPONSE whatsoever. Their support has been terrible and I've lost the money.
Only handles limited file types Can't sync multiple folders
An (older) version of Syncables came installed on my new Asus laptop. I tried to sync with my other computer over a home wireless network and could not connect. So I experimented with syncing to a USB memory stick, and confirmed that it will not sync the whole contents of a folder - just a few selected document types. (The help information, which is rather superficial, does not say which file types it handles, so it had to be found out by trial and error.) This is useless for a power user like myself who needs to sync binary report definitions, Unix script files, etc etc. Also, you can only sync "documents" from a single folder, not pick and choose a multiple selection. It is certainly NOT the "jack of all trades" that another reviewer called it.
- So versatile... - Fun to use - So easy to sync - Even easier to install/get running with the new TaskAssistant. - Wireless or wired syncing but Not over the Internet (i.e. more secure..better suited for sensitive info)
- I wish it sync'd calendars - iPhone/iPad? (syncs with or between Mac...this is the one achilles heel,)
This is what I like to call "of the times software". Here we are, all of us using smartphones, many of us working between multiple computers, all kinds of sensitive/personal information stored on our computers. Heck, we don't have phones anymore...we just have millions and millions of computers and many can make calls.
Enter Syncables - pulling of all these together. It solves so many problems all at once. One, it gives you access to all of your data perfectly on whichever computer you choose to use that is sync'd on your network. Two, you can sync your media and contacts between Android or BlackBerry and your computer. Three, you can securely back up copies of your valuable information on multiple computers.
I could go on and on! It is so useful, I like to think of it as a jack of all trades for syncing.
