"This EMR should cost $10,000 USD, yet it's FREE!"
Pros: After reviewing what must be 100 EMRs big and small, I eventually chose Synapse and have never looked back. It's nimble GUI is fast, yet intuitive. The rock-solid backend database is Firebird and is a "zero administration" setup. Lately, a patient portal is being created where patients that you choose could log in from their homes and make requests (not mandatory to use). Other little pearls: drug-drug-herb interaction checking, ICD9 codes integrated, intra-office messaging, "1 button" access to the key parts of the patient's medical record. I could go on but really you should check this out for yourself!
Cons: No Major Cons. The developer will answer any and all questions via Skype or you could post a question on the Open Access Forums. I'd download the software and check it out.
