"I like it, but I use MalwareBytes too."
Version: SuperAntiSpyware Free Edition 5.0.1134
Pros
I just recently discovered SASW when I saw my brother's Facebook recommendation of it to one of his students, so I've only had it a short time and can't provide a detailed positive or negative opinion. However, on its very first run, SASW found a trojan that both Avast (paid version) and MalwareBytes had missed. SASW runs very fast (especially if you set the Active Boost), and it finds many tracking cookies every time I run it. I like the option to ignore things it finds, like settings cookies or other false positives.
Cons
Like some of the previous reviewers, I don't like the limited information SASW shows about the cookies it finds. You have to know what the difference is between your settings cookies and tracking cookies, and then look closely at the list to determine if you could be deleting some that are important.
Summary
From what I've seen, SASW is very good, but probably should be used along with other spyware/malware tools. I don't trust just one. I agree with the reviews given by TonyBeGoode and musicman4you. Something quirky about SASW has kept me from buying the Pro version; after every run, it says I can buy the Pro version for a limited time for $9.95, but ads emailed to me quote a much higher price.

"VERY, VERY GOOD."
Version: SuperAntiSpyware Free Edition 5.0.1134
Pros
Free, light on resources, efficient, easy to use.
Cons
Dumb name.
Summary
SUPERANTISPYWARE has saved my bacon at least twice. I'd give it 4 stars instead of 5, but again, it saved my bacon twice. A friend in need is a friend indeed. For me, it detected things that MALWAREBYTES didn't, but "bytes" is still a great product, no way I'd ever delete it. I even bought the pay version. Will probably do the same with SASW. Neither of these programs are resource hogs, be safe & keep them both. I could deleted them & switch to SPYWARE DOCTOR, but why don't I just flush my money down the toilet & smear my PC with dog poo instead? It would be the same result.

Cons

"Fantastic for the short run"
Version: SuperAntiSpyware Free Edition 5.0.1134
Pros
Found stuff other program missed.
Cons
After the initial scan, the other program kept finding stuff on the weekly check that SSW missed. Seemed like it quit working on me after the first scan.
Summary
If you routinely use a different program you like, run this every month or so, just in case.

"Potent and Effective Free Anti-Spyware"
Version: SuperAntiSpyware Free Edition 5.0.1134
Pros
Several scan options and flexibility of setup; good spyware catcher - often catches bad stuff my primary anti-spyware program misses; will alert you when updates are available and can be set to remind you to check manually at preset intervals.(auto-updating limited to paid version); 64 bit friendly and has a nice Repair interface for several useful Windows tools.
Cons
Apparently has trouble distinguishing tracking cookies from settings cookies; could display a lot more information about the items caught, allowing users to make better decisions as to what to save or remove; "Active-boost" feature heavy on system resources (despite vendor claims); displays pop-up to upgrade to paid version after each update, although to be fair it's not very obnoxious like some other programs and is easy to ignore - in fact it acts like a prompt that the update is finished when I'm not paying attention.
Summary
As an exclusive user of open-source or free software ('can't afford the paid stuff), I can tell you that, while there's a lot of good stuff out there in several different categories, there really aren't a lot of good anti-spyware programs. Fortunately, SuperAntiSpyware free is one of the better ones. I use it alongside my main program, Spybot S&D in my W7 x64 SP1 system, and have found it to work well with no compatibility issues (so far), and set it up as follows: first I uncheck the <cookies> box in the Preferences section (I had used it some time ago, and it ate my Google Profile and settings cookies without me realizing it- all it said was " adware; 18 items"). Instead I use the excellent cookie-filter in Slim Cleaner. I also uncheck the <Active-boost> function, and it takes about as long as Spybot, with a similar CPU/RAM hit. I can live with the longer scan time, but haven't used this version long enough to see how much info is shown on captured spyware: it should at least shown a name, URL,or domain as Spybot does. Those issues aside, this is an excellent program I'd recommend to anyone.

"Don't let the fancy promises fool you. It's a wolf."
Version: SuperAntiSpyware Free Edition 5.0.1134
Pros
Once it was installed, I ran it and it picked up over 70 items. The next day I tried another scan but it would not run.I tried to run it from the computer's downloads with no luck. Then I noticed that all my downloads folder was empty, nothing to be found.Well I am putting this review under pro because if it keeps somone from having the same happen to them then it's a pro!
Cons
Don't download this one it will cause problems.Read my review under pro.
