CNET Editors' review
StuffIt Deluxe offers users tons of options for compressing files. So many that novice users might find the detailed options a bit overwhelming. However, thanks to its helpful wizards and comprehensive Help menu, even the least experienced user will quickly get acclimated to this effective program.
The program has a busy user interface, but it's laid out very well. Basic commands line the top and tabs keep the program's many configurations organized. We recommend that users take advantage of the help wizards that guide you through the process of creating a new archive, compressing files for e-mail, FTP, and to burn to disc. We were able to quickly add files to the archive, select the destination, compression format, and apply an encryption method and password. As soon as we clicked OK, the program immediately created a ZIP file for our selected files. On a later test, we were able to just as easily create a schedule for creating a ZIP file at a specified time. The program includes a Quick Tools feature that allows you open and extract a ZIP file, as well as create a ZIP file without the help of a wizard. Other features let you manage all of your archives and quickly search for specific ones.
Despite the multitude of options, it didn't take long for us to find our way around the program, and with a little time, novices will also find the program easy to navigate. We highly recommend this efficient program for users who want full control when compressing files.

"Could not download StuffIt Deluxe x64"
Version: StuffIt Deluxe x64 2010
Pros
ABSOLUTELY NONE Run WINZIP instead
Cons
If I could I would
Summary
Operating system Windows 7 I received the following error message : Stuffit_14.0.1.27A_EFGJ_x64.exe is not a valid Win32 application There is no where within the CNET site that I could find to correct the problem. I would be better off on a Merry-Go-Round when trying to get some help, because that's what you get.I am currently running WinZip on my system. Was attempting to download another program, and told to download StuffIt. Which I never was able to do.

"Shady installation of add-ons!!! don't download this!"
Version: StuffIt Deluxe x64 2010
Pros
I needed to download even though I already have winzip and wrar because my client saved the compressed file as a sitx. There was a weird forward where I ended up linked to the stuffit site. Upon install, it installs a bunch of instamail crap and add-ons to my internet browser. VERY SHADY IF YOU ASK ME!
Cons
they embedded instamail software with the install. also had a bunch of add-ons on my browser.
Summary
Tell your client to start saving as ZIP!

"Wasted hours trying to install it. (Windows 7 64 bit)"
Version: StuffIt Deluxe x64 2010
Pros
None. Maybe if I could install it, I might see some. Don't expect help from the home page. It leads you around a circular chase. Never able to even send for help. That page didn't work either.
Cons
See above.
Summary
Installing a nightmare. Unable to accomplish it after hours of frustration. Being compulsive, I hated to give up but did after hours wasted (I'm reasonablly experienced user.)

"INVALID SERIAL NUMBERS directly from Smith Micro"
Version: StuffIt Deluxe x64 2010
Pros
Ease of use, Dropplets
Cons
Serialnumber supplied by Smith Micro rejected as invalid
Summary
I purchased this as an upgrade from version 9.0, because i was quite happy with that version. Although there are no imporvements I can see at frist sight, what I like is the option to create SEAs (Self Extracting Archives). The Euphoria ended, when I discovered that my copy was still in Demo Mode. Upon entering the serial number supplied by Smith Micro, it was rejected as invalid. The Forum / Knowledge Base of Smith Micro states a solution, but that doesn't worl.

"Deleted from my system"
Version: StuffIt Deluxe x64 2010
Pros
Absolutly nothing!
Cons
Doesn't hold a candle to ZipGenius
Summary
I would not reccomend this program to anyone. It isn't for the average user nor is it particularly user friendly. It isn't as customizable as even the old dinosaur ZipIt.
