CNET Editors' review
Conquer the galaxy with this space strategy game, which has a nice set of user-customization options. The vast majority of folks will need help learning to play, so looking at the read-me file and tips found throughout the game is essential. Choose the environment, then select your race and ship type to discover new technologies and build starships and worlds. The customization options are fairly broad and include the ability to change the speaker s voice and the level of competitive advantage for you or your computer foe. However, the one-hour trial period seems a bit short for our tests, and the graphics and sound effects are strictly mediocre for this type of game. Despite the relatively steep learning curve, science-fiction gamers should enjoy the challenge Starships Unlimited offers.Publisher's Description
