If you're looking for a free browser with all sorts of bells and whistles, look elsewhere. Simplicity is the name of the game with Square1 Web Browser.
This browser's simple, straightforward design will appeal to users who want the bare minimum of options. It worked well during our tests, but one concern was its puzzling search engine results. First things first, though, Square1 has the most basic of navigational buttons and no settings options. Even so, our search results came back to us very quickly, and Web pages downloaded without interruption. We were also able to bookmark our favorite Web pages with the click of a button. Using the provided search box, we found the hierarchy of our results a little odd. The results were very random and often didn't seem to pertain to our search. On another note, the program didn't automatically add shortcuts to the desktop or Start menu, and could only be accessed through its folder in Program Files. You can always create your own desktop shortcut, but most programs offer at least one quick way to launch without digging through Windows Explorer.
If you're a minimalist at heart, this freeware browser might appeal, but it offers nothing that will lure away users accustomed to the flexibility of Firefox or IE.

Version: Square1 Web Browser 1.2
Pros: Good idea for a browser, straight forward, simple, cuts to the chase.
Cons: The only problem is nothing would work, sreach, help, any and all controls, it just sat there.
