"Forget about it ..."

Free and easy to install

Too much information
Blew up my system (Windows 7)and wiped out my desktop on uninstall
Had to do a system restore to reset to a date prior to install.

"What we were looking for and more."

Does too much.

Summary

We were just looking for a low cost/free IT support ticket creation and tracking system. Spiceworks does a great job with this, but gave use many other useful tools. Ad email is manageable.

NONE because you can tell them hats wrong or what new features you want and then the roll out with it in the next upgrade or have instant fixs on their site!

"wonderful system administration tool"

Pros

supports, controls, inventories: windows, unix, printers, routers, switches, voip phones all on your desktop. One person can manage an entire network and a helpdesk with full reporting on all errors, warnings and violations.

Cons

some times a little slow on a medium servers but worth the wait for all it can do for free.

Summary

I manage 250 devices in 5 buildings from it, including running processes, micorsoft errors and warnings. I know when diskspace is low on user PCs and when a mailbox is too big. see bandwidth on a switchport or map a network, and there is a huge community to help me fix things and correct problems I see.

I don't know why every shop doesn't have this installed and use to to replace the expensive MOM packeges. It can inventory every piece of software on every machine and give you control of it. Spiceworks Rocks!!!!

"Great Product!! Even better price."

Pros

PRICE. Good network monitoring, Great speed when not doing a network scan. Helpdesk portion is as good if not better then VERY expensive alternatives.

Cons

Ads, although I have not gotten one email.
The ads are not that bad, at least they are targeted

Summary

We have been using Spiceworks for about 6 months now. We did alot of research on what to use. and started using spiceworks as a test. It is a great product. We have been very happy, and will continue to use it for the long run. we have really only been using the helpdesk portion on a daily basis. but works great.
