  This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.<br />been using this for about 2 weeks. on 10.3.9 G4 1.67 ghz 1.5 gig ram. Did notice an improved after effects render and preview time but has crashed my computer 3 times. I would get a spinning beach ball then a force restart of my OS, quit all my open apps losing all my info. After the beach ball I would get a garbled screen and the gray spinning gear, and then the blue screen and my desktop would re-appear as if I just started the machine. and no I did not get the start up bong... the screen did not go black. that has only happened with speed freak so it worries me to much and I can't afford to loose the work (and yes I save regularly) and take the time to wait for the restart. Ran disk until, and disk warrior, hd and os seem fine...so I am jumping ship till it is fixed.

  This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.<br />but when i'm home on surfing that new thing you may have heard of it its called the internet. anyways when i usually have speedfreak open along with firefox and itunes. itunes drags when i have them both open (stutters if you will) I dont like that is their anyway to stop that?.( i assume in the ignored list but then firefox wont go a little faster or itunes wont go faster) on to the goods it works great though i could see it does in activity monitor. any suggestions on a remedy.

Powermac B/W G3 with a G4 550 XLR8 G4 Processor, OS 10.3.5. Safari seems about the same, but All Adobe stuff, MS Word, Camino, Gyazmail, Appleworks are all blazing. Now to go try the rest of my apps.

  This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.<br />Like others I'd like to tell Speed Freak which apps to give the CPU power too. For example, if I'm rendering a Final Cut prroject and then go to surf the net I'd like SF to give more CPU to FC since it needs it and the browser doesnt.

I have only one complaint: its window has a field for your admin password, instead of asking for it in a standard dialog with an "OK" button as most other apps do. I don't use a password for OS X since it's a pain to enter one every time OS X asks for it--I just click a password-asking dialog's "OK" button--so when I click on Speed Freak's "Activate acceleration" button, it says it can't activate because I haven't entered an admin password into its non-standard password field. This should either be made into a standard dialog with an OK button, or it should be modified so it will accept no entry in this field.
