This application makes it a snap for Outlook Express users to signup for Spam Arrest's challenge/response based spam-blocking system. E-mails from unknown senders will receive an auto-reply message containing a "challenge"--if or when the sender completes the challenge (the response), their e-mail is forwarded to your inbox, and they are then added to your authorized sender list. The challenge is easy for people, but impossible for automated systems (i.e. spambots) to complete.

With Spam Arrest, you can continue to use your current e-mail address and e-mail program (such as Outlook, Outlook Express, Eudora, or Thunderbird), or use the online Web mail system to access your e-mail from anywhere. Spam Arrest offers you complete control over your inbox. You can decide who is allowed to send you e-mail by importing your personal address book or entering your known and approved contact addresses directly into the system.

Company should be called "Scam Arrest"

Pros
None, Difficult to use and a sneaky Terms of Service for cancellation.
Cons
They are a churn and burn company. Once they have your credit card info they will bill you every six months $29.95 yet on this site they advertise "buy now" at $19.95. I cancelled my account with them but they still billed me six months later and refused to give me a refund even though I never used their service.STAY AWAY!
Summary
Run as fast as you can in the other direction. They are spammers themselves so don't fall for their 30 day trial. They just wan your credit card info.<br /><br /><span class='notifyMsg'> Updated </span>on Oct 6, 2012<p/>I reported them to the local BBB in Seattle. We'll see if they come to their senses and refund my money.

I signed on to Spam Arrest after reading the recommendation in Esquire Magazine. While Spam Arrest claims to "With Spam Arrest, you can continue to use your current e-mail address and e-mail program (such as Outlook, Outlook Express, Eudora, or Thunderbird), or use the online Web mail system to access your e-mail from anywhere". It does not copy my emails into both email boxes (spam arrest and outlook). I can only access email from Spam Arrest, and there is no way to transfer it to my outlook inbox, or manage it in any of my folders. Email inquiries to the company (there is no way to call them) go unanswered. They are a spam-scam. I am cancelling my account.

Idea was good and there are many other great options we found superior to this shady company.
Cons
I tried Spamarrest for several weeks after paying the subscription fee. Their system went down three times in one week and their support was limited to online responses. After the repeated outages I asked them to close my account and refund our money. They closed the account but did not refund money. After receiving the credit card statement and calling the number on my statement for spamarrest, I discovered it was forwarded to a mobile phone which had been cancelled. Wow! Talk about being ripped off by a shady company. I highly recommend people stay away from this company. <p> <p>Unfortunately, when I began researching on the web, I found that Spam Arrest has been caught spamming those validated email addresses. <p> <p>After a lot of research, I found vanquish has much better support and a money-back guarantee.

This downloader is pretty neat. It sets up outlook to work with the spamarrest account you create at the same time. Or at least I think the spamarrest account is created at the same time. Anyway, once done you'll download your normal email from spamarrest (and i got a spamarrest email address to boot), in my case I download all of my Comcast email from spamarrest after spamarrest gets rid of the junk. I logged into my spamarrest account on their website and there is all kinds of filtering options, whitelists, blacklists, blah blah blah... and they have a webmail page which is cool cause before I would also use Comcasts webmail page, now I use spamarrests... <p> <p>And spamarrest filters using challenge/response like earthlink does which is great cause NO FREAKING spam gets through. <p> <p>By the way I found out about spamarrest because I was a knowspam user before and the knowspam site said to use spamarrest now. ???

I'll admit, it was a bit to get used to at first. And the webmail page is not as fully functional as I would like but does the job fine. <p> <p>So, 1. There is a little learning curve and 2. I'm asking for some more features in the webmail page. <p> <p>Otherwise it's really neato. <p> <p>Thanks!! I was getting over 100 spams a day and so far I have received zero. That's right Zero.
