- Maybe my computer isn't set up properly to work with this program.... Sound studio works fine, until the trial runs out. For some reason I don't have garage band, and my machine doesn't recognize the dmg to install it. Audacity doesn't recognize my microphone. So it could easily be just me, but Sound Recorder seems to do nothing but take up space. Which is not what I'm looking for in a free recording program.

- This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.<br />Simple, nice and working. Only drawback: the storage during recording does not take place in the final format. The intermediate file becomes really huge when recording a meeting. 3 hours = 12 GB. Because of the data transfer the fan sometimes starts on my Powerbook which creates background noise. It would be even better when it could immediately do the encoding to mp3.

- This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.<br />The visual output could be more like in Audio In (see VT for that), but this one has options for compression and sample-rate. I prefer buttons to record, but hey it's a cool nice and free app! Thanks!
