It also introduces a new visual pleasing sidebar and removes the ugly rules drawer. I am anxious to see what's in store for version 3.0. Solavant is my favorite game on Mac OS X.

Great graphics, rules on a pop out window to the side so they're always handy. And wonderfully hard!!!

• A Beautiful Set of Solitaire Games

The demo allows you to play 100 deals before you are asked to purchase the game. The games are purported to be hard solitare but are really challenging to quite difficult logic puzzles. There are no random strategies here! The game plays like a dream and the interfaces are expressive and well laid out. The statistics pane lets you keep track of how you're doing and there is a help window for each solitaire game. Best of all the author is interested in you, the players, opinions and is very responsive in fixing bugs and providing additional games. The set of games is still maturing and gets better with each release. If you do get hooked on this, do join the authors Solavantage newsletter for recommended games and extra strategies. I purchased this after version 1.4 was released and have found the authors support second to none. So in summary, if solitaire is your thing? On the Mac platform they don't come any better than this!

  This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.<br />Application eschews common "This is only a demo, please buy" techniques in favor of a screen that launches on application-quit. Set up as a "buy" or "quit" window, the "quit" button does nothing. You CANNOT GET RID OF THIS WINDOW!!!! Must re-boot computer. I trashed the app immediately.

I installed it on all my 3 macs and my first task every morning is an hour of solitairing with a warm cup of coffee! What was a weak area for mac solitaire games is now a thing of the past: <b>Graphics</b>. The game is absolutely gorgeous in a minimal mac way. I have tried almost all of the solitaire games for mac and they all had one thing in common: They were just ugly in a Windows 98 kind of way ;) No more, my friends! This is what solitaire for mac should look like. Pure Mac OS X Aqua goodness! <br><br> More than that, you get a huge selection of games (<b>137 to be exact!</b>), all with extensive documentation, set of rules and a wealth of statistics (winning streaks, games won, time, score etc). <br><br> While the developer advertises this set of card games as hard, they are not so hard to disappoint you. The more appropriate word would be: challenging (and therefore more worthy of your time). The developer is also the maker of Solebon and SolFree set of card games, wildly popular on Palm OS devices. <br><br> This download provides a demo of completely playable, with no limits whatsoever, of 100 deals! More than adequate to evaluate the game's worth. <br><br> If you, like me, are a solitaire junkie and "software design" conscious, Solavant will be your Solitaire Nirvana! I know mine is!
