This desktop decorator sets a bright holiday mood, but unfortunately, stability issues ruin the fun. Snow Desktop displays breathtaking winter scenes with animated falling snowflakes and a cartoon rendition of Santa and his reindeers flying across the sky. The animation, however, looks rather primitive compared to the rest of the imagery. You will find a couple of customization options, including the ability to set the snowflake density and interval between images. The main problem with Snow Desktop is that icons disappear from the Desktop when you shut down the program. Although we tried to tweak our display settings to get our monitor back to normal, we eventually had to uninstall the program and log off to fix it. Until those issues are repaired, Snow Desktop won't bring most users much seasonal cheer.
