Retrieving files from Skerrik is as simple as searching the catalog that you created when you uploaded the file, and Skerrik personal is free to join and use. Skerrik 'professional' lets you catalog and store all of the files and paperwork that you need for your business or research project. With Skerrik you no longer need to keep filing cabinets in your office. And you no longer need to worry about losing important documents. Skerrik professional can be linked to your website or intranet pages to create a seamless system with your business. Skerrik professional comes with the tools for you to create additional user accounts just for your library. And you have full control over who may access the system and what records users may see. When you add user accounts to your Skerrik system, you get to decide whether that user is allowed to add his/her own files, or simply view files added by others. You can also choose which collections the user is allowed to look at or grant access to all collections. You can even grant users 'editor' or 'administrator' rights. Skerrik professional also allows an administrator to batch load documents instead of just loading one at a time. Skerrik professional is a groupware tool that is ideal for sharing files across different departments, offices, or campuses. Skerrik keeps your files as 'collections', and you can create as many collections as you like. Version: Skerrik: the free document management system 1
"An excellent, easy to use product"
Pros: You can properly catalog and index your files like the big name document management systems. Most of the others just keep files in folders without any indexing at all. The searching and navigation is fast and very easy to use.
Cons: The 'advanced search' needs some work but usually the main search functions is all you need anyway.
Summary: A solid system that's as simple to use as searching google. It lets you properly index your files with user defined meta data so finding files is a snap.
