Version: Serious Backgammon 1.24
"Wildly statistically improbable"
Pros: When it's in "fair cycle" it's an excellently functioning game. (This is version 1.24)
Cons: I can't count the number of times I've filled all but one point on my backboard, only to have this thing continually roll the one count that gets it off the bar. I mean, 8 matches, and having it happen six times in a row in each game? (Some of the roll combinations are highly "predictable," as well.
My uncle, an actuary, watched this thing and said if he were playing poker with it, he'd shoot it. It really is kind of humorous at times. You can write down the computer's rolls before it makes them.
What it needs is a constantly-changing random seed.

Version: Serious Backgammon 1.24
"always "gets the right rolls""
Cons: like most computer games that rely on the roll of the dice. this program seems to "get" the roll it needs. so it can be frustrating at times to be aggressive and leave one stone all by it's lonesome. I've counted and 8 of 10 times on average it will get the necessary roll to put you on the bar. Too bad

Version: Serious Backgammon 1.24
Pros: Great game variation
Cons: Can't load on vista

Version: Serious Backgammon 1.24
Pros: If you play backgammon well, you can position your pieces to take advantage of what is statistically likely to be rolled. This means that a better player will almost always "seem" luckier. The hardest setting isn't cheating, it just plays well.
If you're looking for a real backgammon challenge, give this a try.

Version: Serious Backgammon 1.24
"Computer opponent is too lucky eh?"
Cons: As other reviewers have stated before me the dice rolls of the computer opponent are a little too lucky to keep this game enjoyable. Surely dice rolls should be random like in real life eh? Rubbish.
