Professional video surveillance software with support for multiple cameras. Security Monitor Pro is the perfect solution for complex security problems. It can monitor and record from up to 32 IP cameras and up to 4 USB cameras simultaneously, create continuous video recordings, and preview multiple cameras in a single window. Each camera has its own individual monitoring and recording settings. When motion is detected, it can send e-mail, record audio and video, and/or sound an audible alarm. In addition, the software maintains a detailed event log. Each camera has its own scheduled on/off times. Remote monitoring keeps you on top of security, even from distant locations. All video recordings and snapshots can be automatically uploaded to the FTP server of your choice, either on a regular schedule or as soon as the alarm condition is detected. The program can also broadcast (stream) live video and audio from all cameras, which can be viewed from any location using the Internet. Email alerts can include a snapshot showing the cause of the alert. One minute of video from each camera is always recorded and kept as a buffer, so that recordings started by motion detection can begin before the triggering event. You get a complete record of the incident. Security Monitor Pro can monitor and record from multiple IP cameras, in addition to any cameras connected directly to the PC, simultaneously. It's the central element of your security and surveillance system
What's new in this version: Version 5.05 adds support for many new mpeg4 and h.264 IP cameras including ALFA, AVS, Amovision, BlueStork, Elro, Hamlet, Nilox, Pelco, Sitecom, Speco, Tenvis, Wi8, and Vivotek, fully supports Windows 8 in 32 and 64 bit, previews up to 32 IP cameras on single screen.

"Reliable, affordable protection for home and business"

Summary
I've been using security monitor pro for several years at my home and my office. The new version 5 has been running on my Windows 7 and on a new Windows 8 PC for several weeks without even a hiccup. I just added two new cameras that weren't supported and tech support created a new version supporting my cameras within just a few days!
I have used many other software products, this one is highly recommended. -
"Buggy, crash-prone, expensive"

The software supports a wide variety of cameras.
Cons
Security software should be able to run unattended for extended periods. On a virgin Win7 system with no other installed software, this program crashes every few days. Fortunately, I found a program that would restart it every time it crashed. It is also impossible to correctly set the motion sensitivity, or throttle the number of emails sent to a reasonable number. To add insult to injury, any mention of these problems on the software's support forum is deleted.
Summary
Use only in an attended environment, were you can restart the program as needed. Don't plan on using the motion-detection.

"2 Hour Monitoring Trial"

I can't use the software long enough to make that assessment.
Cons
The trial version only allows 2 hours of monitoring. I want to see if this software can do what YawCam has been doing for free for me for several months. Impossible. Unless I pay $89.00 up front.
Summary
If I was actually going to fork out $89.00 for security software I could go to a computer hardware store and probably get a decent webcam with software for that price. The software seems to work thus far. I am very unimpressed with the Motion Detection settings. There aren't enough of them. YawCam had a great way to fine tune. SMP starts recording the reflection of lights going on and off. Waste of time and money if you're looking for something worth it's on weight in bytes.

Summary
I use Security Monitor Pro to keep a watch on my vacation house in a rural area. I have 3 IP cameras and a USB camera with audio, the software supports all three perfectly, and one of them with a pan-tilt camera and also picks up the audio through the USB camera. Great for keeping an eye on when a repair person is there. I get alerts to my cell phone if an alarm is triggered on an indoor camera and full recording when anyone walks around in view of the outdoor cameras. The detachable windows let me position the camera preview video on my second monitor and I can pan/tilt right from within the software. Excellent product, I recommend it all my neighbors.

Very easy to install and configure. Lots options and many many many cameras supported. Very user friendly. This is how a software interface should work.
Cons
Continuiously keys off of non-movment even at the lowest sensativity. Immeadiatly overwhelmed my email with notifications and had me shut down as a spammer. Heavy memory user with 4 cameras.
Summary
If you like lots and lots of emails that have pictures of nothing different you are gonna love this. If they can fix the non-event event capture problem this would be really great software. After $169 I am really hoping for some kind of fix to the senstivity problem
