CNET Editors' review
Sage is a basic RSS feed and news aggregator for Firefox. Its no-nonsense approach and ease of use will appeal to all user levels.
The extension is meshed with Firefox's sidebar. It's very easy to navigate, with buttons for checking and searching feeds, and two view panels. The top panel displays each feed that you're subscribed to, and the bottom panel displays the specific feed headlines. The Options menu gives you display options, and lets you manage your feeds. We were able to easily copy and paste feed URLs and add them to our list of feeds. Clicking each feed link introduced the individual feed headlines in the lower panel, and also displayed the feed Web site in the browser window. The program lets you manage each individual headline by marking it as read or unread. If you'd rather not interrupt your browsing, you can just hover your mouse over each headline, and a window pops up with the first few sentences of the story.
This free Firefox extension required little effort to understand, and had us viewing our feeds in no time. We highly recommend it to all users.

"Simple, does what is needed."
Version: Sage 1.3.6

This is one of my favorite firefox extensions. It's a lightweight rss reader that automatically finds rss on websites you are viewing. Very easy to customize and use.

"Love it -- simple, fast, stable."
Version: Sage 1.3.6
Pros
All kinds of options - preview, tabs, etc.
VERY simple to use - scans pages for feeds.
Very quick - doesn't lag firefox.
Supports various feed types.
No problems with feeds in languages other than English.
Export feature to backup your feeds.
Cons
Have to use Sage export feature for backup, although stores feeds in bookmarks, you can't just export bookmarks, at least that didn't work for me. Very minor though, export/import feature works very well.

"simple, friendly, effective"
Version: Sage 1.3.6
Pros
I'm new to the world of RSS feeds, etc. Sage was very easy for me to understand and operate. I tried collecting my feeds thru Thunderbird, but found the process clumsy and difficult. Sage worked great from the start, sits neatly in a sidebar and shows me summaries of the content in the main screen. It's simple and effectively handles basic newsfeed activities.
Cons
Every once in a while, some feeds mysteriously stop working. Something about a "parsing error", whatever that means. I have found that it is usually resolved whenever Sage releases an update, so I assume it's a compatibility issue. It's rare, so it hasn't bothered me too much.

"Simple and basic."
Version: Sage 1.3.6
Pros
This is an easy, lightweight RSS/Atom feed-reader for people who don't want a whole separate application. It becomes part of the Firefox browser and integrates with the bookmarks. It does the basic stuff without a lot of bells and whistles. This is a good start for RSS beginners.
Cons
Sage is missing a couple of crucial features. First, you can't configure it to automatically check your feeds every x minutes -- you have to click on the "update feeds" button manually. Second, it doesn't remember what you've already read very well. It's kind of buggy in that respect. That's not a deal-killer, though. It works okay if you want something simple.
