Professional design and a choice of algorithms enhance this easy-to-use encryption/decryption program. Desktop Security Suite's intelligent design makes it easy to get started. On-screen direction clearly guides the first-time user, but simple check boxes eliminate splash screens, expediting the process as the user becomes familiar with the program.
We liked the option to drag and drop files and folders to the program's interface. We didn't like that encrypted or decrypted files are placed in the source directory. An option to designate a new directory is the more common approach. However, encrypted files are identified with the addition of "EN" to the file name. After either process, radio buttons make it easy to shred, delete, or leave the original files alone. Users who want to share encrypted files will definitely appreciate the simple method to create password-protected, self-extracting encrypted files. A simple, but effective file shredder rounds out this security suite.
An easy-to-read log file displays details of all operations. Security-minded users will like the ability to choose from four encryption and eleven shredding algorithms. All are easily selected in the well-organized Settings windows, along with the option to view or securely shred log files.
Our only complaint with Desktop Security Suite was the inability to choose the directory for encrypted or decrypted files. If you're looking for a way to protect sensitive files, you should give this program a try. The fully functional demo version is one of the easiest we've tried and is suitable for the novice or the expert.

Version: SafeIT Desktop Security Suite 2006 (7.5.0.0)
Pros: The suite has a shredder and Encryption modules and a nice touch is on your recyle bin you can right click to shred the contents. Use this product to encrypt your emails.
The encryption goes up to 448 bit blowfish as well as 256bit AES standard too, to give you an idea, most online stores (Amazon, big lots) etc use 128bit encryption.
The thing I use it for at work and home is Passwording files & Folders.
