SHARM

Publisher's Description

From CyberTeam:

SHARM [Self Hypnosis And Relaxation Machine] is a software tool that helps you explore and experience relaxation, self-hypnosis and altered states of consciousness. Select from many predefined sessions, or define your own sessions to suit your needs and preferences. Use our innovative sound technologies with other familiar sounds for mind exploration, self-improvement, relaxation, meditation and more. SHARM is an excellent instrument for therapists and their clients. Compose accurate sessions by planning and implementing the precise steps of the session: Relaxation, Stabilization, Light Hypnosis, Deepening, Deep Hypnosis, Anchoring and Exit. Mix the session with your own-recorded scripts. You can listen to the session directly from within SHARM, or you can generate a sound file to be played later, by an audio-CD or MP3 player. Using SHARM, you can explore and study the influence of different types of sound on your state of consciousness. You are the designer of the session because you are the only one who can learn and understand what is best for you. SHARM can be used for many applications, such as: reducing stress, enhancing creativity, motivation, concentration and creativity, eliminating bad habits, improving sleep and more. SHARM support many sound technologies, such as: pre-recorded suggestions, user-recorded affirmations, built-in nature sounds, background noise, binaural beats, ambient sound, mixers and more. Divide the session into separate stages, like: Relaxation, Stabilization, Light Hypnosis, Deepening, Deep Hypnosis, Anchor and Exit. Add more stages to your session to reflect your design and preferences. Define the length of each stage as a guiding tool for the session design. Learning to use SHARM is a snap. Just click and drag the mouse to define a segment in the proper track line and time dimension. Then set the properties of the sound for the new segment. You'll create your own complex sessions within minutes.

What's new in this version: Version 4.1.2 adds bells harmonization - all music notes of all bells segments are now harmonized and fixes removed the Bells range property.

"It really does do what it says on the box!!"

    July 23, 2008  |   By ibizapaul

    Version: SHARM 2.6

    Pros

This piece of kit it great! Clean, efficient, clear - just like the manual. Focused on a niche market, it is so much simpler easier that competitors and generic multi-track editors. It does not do everything in the world, but what it does do, it does brilliantly!! Added to which, the customer support by Avi and the team is just superb. Well done and thank you!!

    Cons

The supply chain uses Share-it! which is part of Digital River. They are dire! It took me three days plus loads of emails to just get the sale sorted. (see my other review!) If you have a problem with them, firstly be polite, if that doesn't work - get stroppy and write to to the CEO of Digital River who is based in Cologne.

    "Witless and incompetent"

    July 22, 2008  |

    Version: SHARM 2.6

    Pros

I never got beyond the trial version... sadly - it looked sooo good

    Cons

Just to share the abysmal experience I had when attempting to BUY 2.6.1 from SHARM. Sadly they use share-it! which is a branch of Digital River. Despite FOUR attempts to purchase using three different cards (all good!) all four failed 'card failed'... between times I used the same cards for other web purchases no probs!

Worse still they took over two days to reply to emails, and even then had not read the details properly!

Be warned people!! AVOID share-it! like the plague Likewise their parent DIGITAL RIVER who don't care either! These are two outfits which deserve to fail.

To be fair, SHARM CS people were prompt and sympathetic, but could not do much... company policy etc...

"SHARM 2.0.1 -The Good Got Better"

    April 5, 2007  |   By StLupin

    Version: SHARM 2.0.1

    Pros

The sound is 100% improved. I liked the original because I had lots of control over the creation of my sessions. The new version keeps on giving. The developers of this product are entirely too modest in their description of their latest development. 50$ is nothing to have at your finger tips the ability to create a meditative/hypnotic audio file. Lastly, another nice function of the paid for version is the developer gives you 60+ built in tracks to add to your session ranging anywhere from a variety of breathwork to scripts concerning many common health improvement issues.

    Cons

    Nothing.

    "Just AMAZING!"

    November 14, 2005  |   By AustinORAM

    Version: SHARM 1.7.2

    Pros

If the programmers left room for a serial code I would have cracked it! Instead, here's 50 bucks!

That's how good this software is. I have always tried and tried to enter a hypnotic trance and finally, on the first time of checking the software out, on the first audio file, I did! I was even sitting in an uncomfortable position. My body became numb and although my thoughts were rapid they were completely concentrated and clear. I slowly came out of the trance as instructed. It was amazing. The 3D sound through the headphones and the effects were, literally, mind-altering! I told my mother about it and also my brother.

The sounds are not flat like other hynosis audio. You can actually feel yourself become one with the music. You feel like water in the ocean.

The interface and options are sleek and stylish like none other. Easy, simple, and works! You SHOULD try this demo. It is worth more than just $50 dollars, it's worth your life of relaxation. :)

Who am I? Let's just say this is my first and probably last review!

    Cons

I did not like that the programmers were finally smart enough to make a program un-crackable! :)

    Seriously, good job!

    "incredible"

    June 11, 2005  |   By joyous

    Version: SHARM 1.6.3

    Pros

I have terrible insomnia, but I nearly always sleep well with this program running. I recieved the full version as a gift, and I've used many of the files in it as a meditation and self-hypnosis aid with great results. Everyone should try meditating with this program! I actually entered an altered state of consciousness the first time I used it for medition.

    Cons

You have to use head phones in order to recieve the maximum effects, and you have to switch the right and left sides if you're left handed (which is actually another good thing). I didn't like the voice of the guy who did the affirmations/suggestions, but you can record your own.

"Great sound is not an option!"

    June 8, 2005  |   By bassman73

    Version: SHARM 1.6.3

    Pros

Really... it's not there! At first, this looked like it had potential, and it probably does; the idea has merit, and if I had the full version for a month, maybe my opinion would change. Defining relaxation sequences is kinda neat. See, the problems come in with the sound.

    Cons

It just needs some real sound files. If they're trying to sell this thing based on a relaxation module, you should at least have high (24 bit) sound to back up this tech. No MP3s... not even for a demo, or soundbite off the website. I cannot say I felt relaxed at any point of listening to this... but as a composer, I take sound very seriously, as should a program based on response to sound.
