Run Car On Water

CNET Editors' review

by: CNET staff on November 06, 2009

Run Car on Water offers an intriguing solution to rising gasoline prices. This e-book describes a step-by-step process for converting your automobile's engine to run on water.

The program's interface is simple. While there's no Help file, none is needed because this is an electronic book read in Adobe Acrobat. The e-book covers the history, techniques, and possible pitfalls of converting one's car to run on water. Chapters are written in a very plainspoken tone that is, thankfully, free of jargon and confusing terms. One complaint we had was that it takes a scant 26 pages to describe the entire process, which felt pretty short for such a huge change. We also didn't like the lack of diagrams in the e-book. Fortunately, the program's companion Web site offered plenty of diagrams, which gave a lot more color to the topics covered. It also shows helpful pictures, which we found essential to understanding the material. While the e-book is written in a way that seems to make sense, we stress that we didn't attempt to convert a car to run on water or even verify its technical feasibility, so therefore we can't be positive of the book's accuracy. We should note that the publisher's Web site offers "Internet marketing tips that make you money," including a guide to selling e-books on Ebay.

Run Car on Water is freeware. It comes as a compressed file. While we can't vouch for the actual conversion, the book is an intriguing read that we recommend.

Publisher's Description

From Phinikas:

This book will not only talk about how to get your car to run on water and the process that you have to undergo to get the car to run on water, but how the many kits that you see online work and how they can work for you. You have probably seen the kits online that can make your car run on water and wondered how they work. There is a difference between those kits and what you will learn in the beginning of this book. Meanwhile, you can use this guide as a way to actually convert your own car into a car that is run on water.

If you cannot afford to buy a brand new hybrid, you can make create your own hybrid car by using one of the gas to water converters that are featured online. Now that you know how these products work, you should be better informed as to what type of product you can buy for your car.

Disliked because this invoked my first ever response and it had to be over something stupid.

    "Funny stuff"

    November 11, 2009  |   By calando57

Version: Run Car On Water 7.0

    Pros

    Gave me a good laugh.

    Cons

Might even work, but costs more energy than gasoline.

    Summary

The text describes an incredibly inefficient (and dangerous) way of converting water to H2/O2 via electrolysis, then burning the gas in the motor. Everyone with the faintest idea about the law of energy conservation knows what that means: forget it.

    "LOL... ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!!"

    November 10, 2009  |   By BigThunder1

Version: Run Car On Water 7.0

    Pros

    None!!!!!!

    Cons

    Everything!

    Summary

LOL... This is nothing more than a marketing scam to get your money. The writer/author comes across as a grade school child writing a report with a father who's a "Go Green" fanatic with an ax to grind! Don't get me wrong... I'm all for the green movement, but this is the best laugh I've had in a long time, and an insult to those of us who are familiar with mechanics, physics, and science. This tells you absolutely nothing constructive to even grasp the necessary systems and concepts to pursue a challenge such as this. LOL... thanks! I needed a good laugh today.

The links included are feed through click-through, a pay-per-click system. I wonder who's getting payed for this scam? Cnet, do your homework on stuff before pushing it out to the public... to avoid further embarrassment in the future.

There are viable working solutions to run a hybrid vehicle on hydrogen, but this isn't one of them.

    "OH dear, Oh dear!"

    November 10, 2009  |   By cyclingrev

Version: Run Car On Water 7.0

    Pros

People are gullible and will believe that just because it is wrapped up and packaged well, it will work - Remember the Apple Newton anyone? Or even the Sinclair C5 (UK only)?

    Cons

There is one born every minute (or new we neat 7 billion on the planet, should that be every second?)

    Summary

I look forward to verions 8.0 which describes how to make dilithium crystals and travel faster than light using an elastic bang, Feng Shui and only the power of your mind!

"Shows how naive CNET can be"

    November 10, 2009  |   By davidows

Version: Run Car On Water 7.0

    Pros

None - should get ZERO stars.

    Cons

CNET is not "making this available"; it already was, from the fraudster's website. CNET is promoting its distribution without taking the time to debunk it.

    Summary

Fortunately, others have already pointed out that this sort of pseudo-science is illogical, impossible and already debunked by more credible online sources than CNET.

    "Give CNET a break"

    November 10, 2009  |   By razzell2

Version: Run Car On Water 7.0

    Pros

None...if this worked, there would be some kind of working prototype out there.

    Cons

I think its hilarious, and I think the people at CNET have a great sense of humor.
This is Run Car On Water 7.0. I guess versions 1.0 thru 6.0 needed some tweaking.
    LOL...
    Steam engine, anyone?

    Summary

I applaud CNET for bringing this bit of interesting bogusness to us.
I trust all of the downloads from my CNET newsletter, and I am sure that CNET is not offering this to us because they believe it will allow you to change your car over to waterpower.
I think it is included in the newsletter because it is interesting, different, and intrguing.
It is, after all, just an e-book/adobe reader download.
Download it, or pass it by, but dont bust on CNET for making it available.
