Editors' reviewWith an inspiring soundtrack, this capture-the-flag classic may still hold some charm for gamers looking for a low-res nostalgic kick. Return Fire puts you behind the controls of either a helicopter, armored car, rocket launcher or truck, and challenges you to navigate obstacles on islands to destroy enemy bases. The game's graphics, considering its age, aren't too boxy or basic, and give the game enough realism to keep it engaging. Vehicle controls, however, aren't difficult but simply awkward, and may take some time to master. Our favorite part about Return Fire is its soundtrack, which takes a page from the award-winning Apocalypse Now movie with Wagner's "Flight of the Valkyries" as its main theme. While the sound quality is not stellar, it is sufficient enough to be entertaining. If you're looking for a simple shooter challenge and aren't picky about graphic quality, Return Fire may offer a brief but amusing romp.
This is an intensely combative version of capture the flag. The object is to bring the enemy's flag home under rapid fire.
