RegRestore is an advanced Registry cleaner for Windows that allows you to safely scan, clean, and repair Registry problems. Significant numbers of Registry errors can degrade the performance of your PC and cause crashes. Problems with your Registry can occur for many reasons including the incorrect removal of software, remnants of code left behind after software is uninstalled, missing or corrupted hardware drivers, or orphaned start-up programs. RegRestore uses a high-performance detection algorithm to identify missing and invalid references in your Windows Registry. RegRestore will scan your entire Registry for any invalid entries and provide a complete list of the errors found. A Registry risk rating for each error is a feature of RegRestore. Compact function will detect wasted space and rebuild Registry size for optimal performance. Optimize function will apply a set of tweaks and patches. Live update, command-line options, and speed scan add to this software's utility.

On most counts, this Registry cleaner strikes us as a positive affair. The program's interface is professional-looking, colorful, and logically arranged, with prominent buttons for scanning your computer for errors and compacting the Registry. By default, the program is set to scour the entire Registry, but if you like you can add or remove items such as fonts, invalid shortcuts, file extensions, and shared DLLs. The program can automatically back up the Registry before a scan, but this feature only seems available to XP users. It's nice that RegRestore PC TuneUp tells you the location of problematic keys and tells you how serious they are. Still, we'd like to see a scheduling utility, a perk available in many programs in this class. Scan times weren't unreasonable, but since the demo only will remove entries from half of the categories, you may need to get your hands dirty manually or find another program if you expect a pristine Registry. But in the final analysis, RegRestore PC TuneUp has some good things going for it.

  "Took over 5hours to DEEP SCAN registry and then wouldn't fix them"

  Pros: Easy to use

  Cons: TOOK FOREVER TO DEEP CHECK REGISTRY AND THEN WOULDN'T FIX PROBLEMS, ONLY FIXES BASIC ISSUES THAT COULD REPAIRED BY OTHER FREE PROGRAMS...THUMBS WAY DOWN!
