RealPlayer Cloud 2 is a complete solution for all of your media playing needs, and the cloud integration means you can sync across devices, as well. That means is easier than ever to watch iPhone videos on your Windows machine, or add YouTube videos to your library, and watch them on your mobile device when you're offline.

Pros

Facebook integration: When you log in to RealPlayer with your Facebook account, you can quickly share your favorite videos with all of your friends. And working in reverse, you can also view videos others have shared to Facebook straight through your RealPlayer interface.

Sync across devices: Not only can you manage your RealPlayer account from any of your devices when you sync them through the cloud, but you can also stream them directly to your TV. This player integrates with both Roku and Chromecast, so you won't have to plug your computer into the TV anymore to enjoy all the videos in your RealPlayer library.

Cons

Some bugs: While the Web Videos tab is a nice addition to the app, it never played a video during testing. Videos showed up in search results, but when one was selected to play, all that we saw was a blank screen.

Bottom Line

RealPlayer Cloud 2 provides a nice assortment of features, although not all of them can be counted on to work as intended. If you're the impatient type, you might look for a less versatile player with the features you care about that can get things done more quickly. And while the flexibility of the cloud is definitely convenient, it's almost becoming standard for major media players at this point.

"Best Free Converter"

January 08, 2015  |  By AlwaysaPlanB

 |  Version: RealPlayer Cloud 17.0.15.10

Pros

The converter means I can use mp4 videos downloaded from Youtube, and the like, easily and directly in Powerpoint (by conversion to wmv).
That's a big help to me and is more efficient than other free options I have tried.
When it works, the download button is a boon too.
It is free.

Cons

"Download video" from webpage button often does not "see" videos to download on a webpage. There's usually another way round but this is not the complete solution.
You have to be aware when installing to make sure you only install what you want.
Is the Cloud such a big issue? I just don't use it.
I have always had to create a user name even when it was Realplayer.
I have not tried to remove it so I don't know about the ease or otherwise of that.

Summary

Not an all-in-one solution.
It does convert files easily and appropriately.
The download function is helpful but cannot be relied on for every webpage.

"Thumbs DOWN for this one"

January 07, 2015  |  By clintonbd

 |  Version: RealPlayer Cloud 17.0.15.10

Pros

The cons over-shadow any pros that I may have previously had for this software.
I used to like Realplayer for the flv functionality. Now I use recommend VLC player as a safer choice

Cons

Users are forced to sign up for the cloud to use the product.
The downloader works only intermittently.
The software is invasive and installs in a way that makes it very difficult to remove from the PC.

Summary

The techniques used by Real Networks to stop users uninstalling this software and the almost make this Malware in my opinion.

I believe that this is a good example of excellent software being turned to rubbish by developers who are focused only on revenue and not on user needs.

"Cannot even create an account"

December 27, 2014  |  By daveburch235

 |  Version: RealPlayer Cloud 17.0.15.10

Pros

Can't find any until I am able to log on

Cons

Cannot create an account, so I cannot even begin using the service.

Summary

I have been trying to create an account for RealPlayer Cloud repeatedly since installing it weeks ago. Every attempt ends with the error "We're experiencing technical difficulties. We are unable to complete your request. Please try again or contact customer support." I cannot contact support because you must have a paid subscription. I cannot get help from the user forums because I have the same problem trying to create a forums account. If they gave a damn, they would have fixed this problem by now: Surely I am not the only one experiencing this. So, I am quitting on RealPLayer Cloud.

"Don't want the "Cloud""

November 29, 2014  |  By Sevciu

 |  Version: RealPlayer Cloud 17.0.15.10

Pros

Sorry guys didn't get to see the pros... Got heavily annoyed with "The Cloud" login requirements.

Cons

The requirement for login and Inability to disable "The Cloud".
Not possible to uninstall via Control Panel.

Summary

Can CNET live up to its bravery and give a poor review when due?

Why on Earth someone would think I would gladly copy my media on the Word Wide Web? Why would I want to be mustered like cattle and gently herded towards opening my privacy to wide web?
I can handle my backup requirements within my personal network, if you want to make a good product, please cater for this.

Now I want to uninstall latest version, and go back to the pre-cloud version, but that seems to be a hassle as well.

Cheers!
